Hitcase Pro Turns iPhone Into a GoPro Camera

The Hitcase Pro turns an iPhone 5 or 5s into a GoPro Camera thanks to the rugged waterproof case and camera lens. The case does offer rugged protection from shocks resulting from falls and extreme conditions, like snowboarding, water skiing, diving or driving with it mounted on off-road vehicle's hood or on the helmet of a motorcyclist. People from the company recently filmed some underwater posting some cool video on their website.

When we reviewed the Hitcase Pro we liked it. The rail on one side lets the user mount the case to various attachments that will suction to the hood of a car, on a helmet or a boat. Screw a mount onto the handlebars of a bike or hold it with a pole for basic videography or photography. There's also a lens that mounts on the case for better wide angle shots. In other words the camera will get a wider view of the scene with the lens than it would with just the iPhone camera.

The company's Vidometer app saves the video along with key details like the user's speed, thanks to the phone's built-in GPS function. It also records other data like altitude, direction the person was going and more.

The iPhone 5 Hitcase Pro costs $129.99 while a lesser capable case costs $89.99 and doesn't come with the lens. There's also an iPhone 4/4s version of the Pro for $129.99.
