5 New Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Update Details

The Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll outs are winding down and should be completed soon. Still, there are many users out there searching for answers and here, we offer up five new details on Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 updates in the United States and around the globe.

In October, Samsung finally announced Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. For Galaxy S4 users, Android 4.3 marked the first major Android update for the device. For the Galaxy Note 2 users, the same, even though the device launched all the way back in August of 2012. And for Galaxy S3 users, it was the first major update in quite sometime. Galaxy S3 users were spoiled with a Premium Suite update in Android 4.1.2.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is a significant update for Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 users in that it brings the devices support for the Galaxy Gear, Samsung KNOX for added security and various enhancements and fixes including the new and improved Multi-Window from the Galaxy Note 3 which has been deployed to the Galaxy Note 2.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 roll out started in October and Sprint and Verizon were right out of the gates with the Android 4.3 update. In November, the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update hit regions around the world including the United States, though the update still remains out of reach on some carriers. And finally, the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update followed and it has slowly spread in the U.S. and elsewhere.

That said, there are still plenty of missing Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 updates. Here, we take a look at the latest details in regard to the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 updates.

Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Update Still Rolling Out

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update is complete in the United States, at least amongst major carriers, but that doesn’t mean that the worldwide roll out is finished. In fact, there are other carriers that are still waiting to push out their versions of the update. One example is Australian carrier Vodafone who is currently in the process of testing the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update. It does not say when the update will roll out but it should be relatively soon, assuming everything goes well.

This is a great sign for those that are still waiting for the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update as it means that carriers are still hard at work, weeks after the initial roll outs touched down.

Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Roll Out Continues in U.S.

There are still some Samsung Galaxy S3 variants in the United States that still don’t have the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on board. One of those devices is the Verizon Galaxy S3 which remains the only big name variant out there still without Android 4.3. Until recently, the C Spire Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update was on that list as well. But no more.

C Spire Wireless, a regional carrier, has beaten the Verizon Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update to the punch as the software is currently rolling out to owners right now. The update can be pulled Over-the-Air and the upgrade process should not be a lengthy one given that the carrier is regional and not as widespread as some of these other carriers.

Verizon Galaxy S3 users are still without any official information about their Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update and it will like stay that way for the foreseeable future as Verizon typically does not announce specifics.

Other Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Updates

We’re seeing a growing trend with the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update though. From the looks of things, carriers are trying to get the software rolled out before the end of 2013 and the end of the holiday shopping season. For instance, French carrier SFR just announced that its Android 4.3 update will be available before the end of December. It’s just the latest carrier to commit to a release inside of 2013 and it’s becoming clear that these carriers are trying to get the job accomplished before the start of 2014.

That said, there are indeed carriers that could miss 2013. Australian carrier Telstra is one of them. The carrier is currently deploying an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update and it has not said when, or if, it will be releasing an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for its aging flagship.

And just yesterday, we saw the Galaxy S3 LTE Android 4.3 update hit international users for the first time, a sign that the overall roll out across the globe is almost finished.

Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Update Update

There are still a couple of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 variants in the United States that still don’t have Android 4.3. AT&T and Verizon are those two variants that remain on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. We haven’t seen any details emerge for those updates though Samsung still thinks that the AT&T Galaxy Note 2 is running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

What we have seen though is movement from other carriers. French carrier SFR says that it plans to have the update out by Christmas. It did not provide a specific date. Telstra in Australia plans to have the update out by the end of December as well.

Once again, it’s clear that these carriers are working towards pushing these updates live before the start of the new year and that could apply to carriers like AT&T and Verizon as well.

Android 4.3 Bug Fix Updates Begin

Earlier this week, Verizon started pushing out an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean bug fix update to its Galaxy S4, an update that marks the start of incremental updates for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 in the United States. Verizon’s release sets the tone for the period between the Android 4.3 roll out and the start of Android 4.4.

While the Verizon Galaxy S4 update doesn’t fix everything on board Android 4.3, it’s clear that carriers are not going to sit around idly while users deal with the bugs that are on board Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Gotta Be Mobile has heard from numerous Galaxy owners in the United States who have had trouble with Android 4.3 so it’s clear that carriers have their work cut out for them.

Verizon’s update came out of the blue and other Android 4.3 bug fix updates likely will as well.

this article is so poorly written. first it states that all gs3 updates are done in U.S. before continuing on to say verizon still does not have it. verizon may have a great network and half-decent service, but the cost and lack of timely updates says in 3 months when my contract is up i will be moving on to a better carrier after way too many years with verizon’s BS.

I have said it before and I will say it again I predict the AT&T Note 2 will never get a firmware update from 4.1. As long as the firmware updates require AT&T to do anything it won’t happen.

The S4 4.3 update has been an unmitigated disaster in the UK (for reasons that escape me entirely! ). We don’t tend to have phones locked to a particular carrier so we can’t blame them.

The problem rests with Samsungs well known appalling customer support. They have given no information or a timescale for resolution. They had to be brow – beaten to even acknowledge the problems.

I have slavishly bought Samsung products and currently have an S4 that used to work perfectly until I made the mistake of assuming Samsung would have thoroughly tested 4.3 before releasing it. I now have a partial brick that requires regular restarts, has slow intermittent wifi and eats the battery.

It’s still a complete mess with no information on fixes.

    I have concluded 2 things:

Firstly that Samsung MUST have outsourced their customer support to North Korea and,

Second, I will be looking at competitor products (for the first time) in 2014 because Samsung doesn’t deserve my loyalty.

4.1 is no longer on android main web site page so it is expired. Note 2 without carrier still didn’t get the update which should be directly from Samsung?! The problem is that no one is talking about raising a low suite gainst samsung regards to that more than one year without support for new devices.

How is it possible that this guy writes the same stupid article without saying anything, every day? We could line up every Gotta Be Mobile article from the last 30 days, from this kid, and they would say the same goddamn thing. I can’t figure out if he is a troll, or has some short term memory disability.

Seems similar 4.1.2 update is pushed to Italy yesterday. Not sure why 4.3 is not delivered or Samsung is preparing our phones for 4.3 release. Worst thing is no clear plan is available anywhere, everybody is speculating. Not fair after paying 40K for a high end phone this type of treatment we are facing. Another point is why US/UK are on first priority and no wrods about Asia? Samsung is looking at profilts first and customer second. I am still hopefull.

Well there is no sign of the 4.3 update for the note 2 in the uk. I get the impression that samsung employees worldwide are forced to go on blogs and rave about having the 4.3 update, come 1st april 2014 ( april fool there is no 4.3 or 4.4 update the jokes on us note2 owners). Even mid and low end devices are further along on their update cycles than the note2, 14 months and the emperors new clothes.
