Google's Pixel and Pixel XL are extremely cheap and they've been upgraded to Android 10. Still, you're better off going with a newer Pixel phone (if that's what you're set on doing) in 2020.

The Pixel and Pixel XL replaced the Nexus series several years ago and at one point they were two of the best smartphones on the market. These days, not so much.

While they can still hold their own, their hardware is extremely outdated, particularly the cameras. If you love shooting photos and video on your phone you'll without a doubt want to go with a newer Pixel model.

If you don't mind spending a bit, take a look at Google's new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. They've got an assortment of high-end features.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have tremendous cameras and the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, Google's budget options, also have powerful cameras.

And thanks to the rest of their hardware, they're going to outperform the original Pixels in key areas like battery life, overall speed, and gaming.

On top of that, software support for the original Pixel and Pixel XL has ended. So if you're planning to hold onto your next phone for awhile, and you don't want to rely on the development community, you'll want to go with a newer model.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are much cheaper than they were in 2018 and 2019 and you might even want to look at the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL if you really want to go with a Google device.
