The only other major catch on the Amazon Fire 7 tablet is that Amazon only includes a mono speaker in the Fire 7.
That will limit the loudness and quality of music played over the tablet and while watching movies. For day to day use it's not going to be a dealbreaker at this price, but similar to the screen, it's a reason to consider the more expensive Fire HD 8. The other alternative is to use headphones while listening to music and movies or connect to a speaker. The Fire 7 tablet has a headphone jack and supports Bluetooth, so you can always use those options. |

I would disagree with this. We bought our two kids (3 and 5) two 7″ kindle tablets on prime day for $30 each. They have both used them for over a year, without a problem. Part of that is because we bought two shock- and drop- proof cases for $10 each on eBay. We added 16gb SD cards at $8 each, and suddenly we have almost as good a deal as the Kid Tablet, but for less than $50. If they break one (not sure how that would be possible, as these cases are pretty sturdy), we’ll just pick up another tablet when they go on sale (seems to happen 3 times a year).
