Apple is reportedly working on a new Apple Watch 7. The Apple Watch 7 release date is just days away and there are some great reasons to put your credit card away and wait for the 2021 Apple Watch.

If you’re thinking about buying an Apple Watch in 2021, the Apple Watch 6 and Apple Watch SE are the company’s latest models. And now that we’re a year out from their release, you should be able to find some excellent deals with more coming later in the year.

Apple also sells the Apple Watch Series 3 and you can also find former flagships like the Apple Watch 5 and Apple Watch 4 at retailers like Amazon.

You also have options outside of Apple’s family of watches. Some of the top Apple Watch alternatives include Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, the Fitbit Versa 2, and Amazon’s budget Amazfit Bip S.

We’ve also heard about new 2021 smartwatches and the purported roster unsurprisingly includes a new Apple Watch 7.

Apple Watch 7 Release Date

We’ve heard a ton about the iPhone 13 series and iPad mini 6 and we’ve also heard quite a bit about the company’s 2021 Apple Watch.

Digitimes says Apple’s planning multiple product events for September. According to its sources, Apple will “host a series of product launch conferences in September.”

We’ve seen multiple reports point to a delayed Apple Watch 7 release date though it now looks like the device will launch on time with limited quantities available at launch.

Unreleased Apple Watches have also shown up in the Eurasian Economic Commission database ahead of their expected launch in the fall.

There are six models listed: A2473, A2474, A2475, A2476, A2477, and A2478 and these are likely the new Apple Watch 7 models running watchOS 8.

Apple does its best to plug up leaks, but they’re inevitable and we should see Apple Watch 7 rumors out new features and enhancements in the coming days.

These Apple Watch 7 rumors put those of you searching for a new smartwatch in a tough position: Buy a new device right now or wait?

While many people will be just fine upgrading right now, others should hang around and wait for Apple’s 2021 Apple Watch models.

In this guide we’ll take you through the best reasons to consider waiting for the rumored Apple Watch 7 and the best reasons to go with something else.

Wait Because the Apple Watch 7 Release Should Be Close

Wait Because the Apple Watch 7 Release Should Be Close

Apple releases a new Apple Watch every fall like clockwork, and we expect the trend to continue in 2021. The new watch typically arrives in September alongside new iPhones and it looks like Apple will stick to this pattern in 2021.

Apple has confirmed a launch event for September 14th and we expect the new iPhones to launch during that event with pre-orders starting on September 17th. The iPhone 13 release date should land on September 24th.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman initially said the company's new Apple Watches would arrive alongside the iPhone 13 series in the fall.

Recently, Gurman along with another source, said the Apple Watch 7 launch would be delayed. Gurman added that the watch is "suffering production snags as manufacturers adjust to a new design, likely leading to delays, according to a person familiar with the situation."

Now Gurman is saying the Apple Watch 7 will indeed launch alongside the iPhone 13 series in September though we'll probably see numerous shipping delays.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also says the Apple Watch 7 will start shipping later this month. He claims Apple's solved the production issues.

If you can't wait until next week to buy a new smartwatch, you'll want to start looking at Apple Watch 7 alternatives.

That said, if you can stomach a few more days, it's probably best to hang around and wait.
