Wait for Design Changes

Wait for Design Changes

If you aren't a huge fan of the iPhone's current design language, think about waiting.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning significant changes to the iPhone's design in 2020. In a new research note, Kuo claims the 2020 iPhone models will sport a new metal frame that's similar to the one Apple used on the iPhone 4.

In the note obtained by MacRumors, Kuo claims the devices will feature "a more complex segmentation design, new trenching and injection molding procedures, and sapphire or glass cover assembly to protect the trench injection molding structure."

He claims the new design will be a major selling point and could propel Apple's smartphone shipments to 85 million units in 2020.

A report from Japanese blog Mac Otakara, citing Chinese supply chain sources, states that the 6.7-inch model's design will be about 7.4mm thick. If true, it would mean a design that's nearly 10% thinner than the iPhone 11 Pro Max (8.1mm).

Mark Gurman says the two higher-end iPhone 12 models will "have flat stainless steel edges instead of the current curved design as well as more sharply rounded corners like the iPad Pro introduced in 2018."

He also says the new models will, like the ‌iPhone‌ 5 design, have flat screens "rather than the sloping edges on current models."

Leaked schematics from YouTube channel EverythingApplePro and Max Weinbach showcase a thinner design, smaller bezels, and some smaller tweaks to the iPhone 12's design.

We've also seen several alleged images of iPhone 12 molds leak giving us a potential look at the iPhone 12's upcoming design in detail. The molds are consistent with many of the current design rumors and reveal an iPad Pro-like design with flat edges.

If these design changes interest you, think about hanging around for the new models.

I guess there are more reasons to wait than to buy. Having patience, we can think more of what phone we really need and manufacturers add more features than the older ones. https://www.arlingtonplumbingservice.com/
