5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Buy the Pixel 2 XL

Pixel 2 Quality Control Issues

Our fourth reason you shouldn't buy the Pixel 2 XL right now is over quality control issues. We've seen reports that multiple phones shipped to buyers with no Android operating system installed. Essentially these phones don't work at all, a brick, and had to be replaced by Google. Then, some that failed quality control or had visual blemishes or scratches went out to buyers too. Even with the "failed testing" paper inside the box. This is simply unacceptable, especially from a company as big as Google.

Not to mention complaints about Bluetooth, weird noises coming from the speaker, ticking sounds, poor battery life, to things like Portrait mode simply not working. Google has some touching-up to do.

This phone is brand new, and any problems with the manufacturing process and shipping lines will get fixed eventually. We see it with every phone release, just not this bad. Until Google irons out the process and fixes some of these very avoidable mistakes, we suggest waiting or buying something else.

The Pixel 2 XL is still a phone many will buy and love, but if you don't want to deal with any of this mess wait a few months. Maybe buy one for Christmas after we have time to assess the entire situation and see if anything clears up.
