5 Walmart Black Friday 2017 Deals to Avoid

7" SmarTab for $28

An Android tablet under $30? That sounds like a cheap tablet for sure, and it's one you should skip over in favor of a tablet that you know will get updates and that has the support of a well known company.

The SmarTab is running Android 7.1, which means you can access Google Play. That's a good sign, but the SmarTab support site is not promising and links to documents are not showing us support information.

Reviews for other SmarTab products on Walmart are not very favorable, even for a budget device. Users complain about battery life, speed and other problems. When contacting customer support they were told they had to pay to ship it in for service. Paying to ship a $28 tablet isn't something you want to be doing early in the new year.

Instead you should buy the Amazon Fire HD 8  which will be $49.99 on Black Friday. That's $20 more and definitely a price increase, but you get a product with a better support history and more reviews for you to judge.
