Microsoft launched the Xbox One with a Kinect 2 sensor in every box because it wanted to make the console approachable for every day people. Its true mistake wasn’t trying to appeal to a new generation of gamers, it was forcing it on everyone who couldn’t care less about democratizing gaming.
Millions of Kinect sensors are out there and the only way living room game is going to grow in huge numbers is if we abandon the controller as the ideal method of input for every single game – casual or not. We need more games with Kinect functionality at the least, and Kinect only support if possible. |
