6 Exciting Android Tablets for 2013

In addition to the Nexus 7, Google also launched a larger Nexus tablet in November in the Samsung-made Nexus 10 tablet. The tablet features vanilla Android software, a large 10.1-inch high-resolution display, and a quality build. It's also in high demand, selling out at the Google Play Store several times. Read: Google Working On Next Generation Nexus 10, Could Debut at MWC. Google is rumored to be working on a Nexus 10 sequel, possibly for Mobile World Congress. That seems a little early for a debut but we do expect Google to announce a new Nexus 10 at some point down the road. The current rumors suggest a device with a new eight-core T678 graphics processor to replace the dual-core T604 graphics processor in the current Nexus 10 tablet. The source that saw the device also described it as night and day compared to the current Nexus 10. MWC 2013 seems like an odd place for a launch and if Google does introduce a Nexus 10 2 this early, likely to compete with any new iPads, it would likely come at Google I/O. | |||||||

One Android tablet maker making strides to offer quality Android tablets at budget prices is Ainol Electronics – which has previously won runner-up for “Best Tablet of the Year” at CES, and this month has introduced the Novo Quad Core Series of Android tablets– including the Novo 7 Venus which launched this week — with one U.S. reseller – a site called TabletSprint offering this new model for $149 —
The Novo 7 Venus compares and to the Nexus 7 tablet but for considerably less – matching key features, including a Quad Core processor, a high resolution multi-touch 1280×800 IPS screen, 16GB memory, a front camera, Android O/S and Google Play Store preinstalled — while also offering a number of features the Nexus 7 doesn’t – including a 2-megapixel rear camera, a MicroSD memory card slot, an HDMI 1080p port to download and watch movies directly from a tablet on a large screen TV and also project & play video games on to a big screen; plus more ways to connect to the internet, including Ethernet as well as 3G/4G Wireless connection through its USB port with a 3G/4G USB adapter.
The Novo Hero II also launched earlier this month – a full size, 10 inch Android tablet that packs in most of the same features, including a quad core processor and 1280×800 IPS screen, and innovative features, including 4K HDMI Digital Output – Plus 32GB memory and a strong 8,000 mAh battery — all for less than $250 at TabletSprint.
In February, the Novo 9 Spark is also expected to be released, which will feature a Quad Core processor along with a 9.7 inch 2048×1536 (Retina) screen – along with a powerful 10,000 mAh battery, 4K Digital HDMI, and a 5 Megapixel Rear Camera with AF and Flash for about $270.
It should be interesting to see how the new Novo Quad Core Series fares in 2013 as this company gains more presence in the tablet market.

I don’t see how you could have left out the eight-inch Archos 80 Platinum. Basically a quad-core CPU iPad Mini alternative for just $199. Also the Archos 97 Platinum, quad-core with Retina for just $249.
