Apple recently announced its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with tons of improvements across the board, but the Galaxy Note 7 is still the phone to have and beat. And while yes the Galaxy Note 7 is currently undergoing a quick recall over some battery problems, here we go over multiple reasons the Galaxy Note 7 beats the iPhone 7 Plus.

On Wednesday Apple made the iPhone 7 Plus official, with a design we’ve seen time and time again. There are subtle changes throughout, dual stereo speakers, dual cameras on the back, water-resistance and more, which all make it a compelling smartphone. That being said, it could still be better, and in many ways the Galaxy Note 7 could be exactly what buyers are looking for.

When it comes to choosing Android vs iPhone, or the iPhone 7 Plus vs Galaxy Note 7 a lot of things come into play. Of course personal preference is a big one, screen size and price come to mind, but that isn’t all shoppers consider in 2016. Buyers who are now second-guessing the Note 7 over the recall may want to read on for a few reasons it’s still the phone to buy.

As we said above, Apple did a lot of things right this year, but are still missing some key pieces of the puzzle. They added dual stereo speakers for improved sound, cut out the ridiculous 16GB storage option and now the iPhone 7 comes in 32GB, 128GB or even 256GB. The iPhone 7 Plus is water resistant too.

Buyers have wanted these options and features for years, and they’re finally here from both of the biggest players in mobile. However, Apple is still missing some very important features which can be found from others, made some odd choices with the 3.5mm headphone jack, and it still might no be able to match the latest from Samsung.

The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus go up for pre-order later this week, and will begin shipping on September 16th in the United States and around the globe. And while Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is currently going through a recall, it too will be available again soon. Before you buy either of these top-tier smartphones, take a peek at our slideshow below which goes over a few things Samsung got right, and why you should consider it over the new iPhone 7 Plus.

iPhone 7 Plus vs Galaxy Note 7: Display

iPhone 7 Plus vs Galaxy Note 7: Display

Apple's bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus still only offers a 1920 x 1080p HD resolution, and the smaller regular iPhone is only 720p. Yes they have great screens, high brightness and a new wide color gamut, but they aren't a Samsung S-AMOLED display. The iPhone has always had a great retina screen, but it still isn't enough to beat Samsung.

In fact, the Galaxy Note 7 won multiple awards for the best smartphone display, and easily beats anything on the market. From offering a 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD resolution, stunnin vivid colors, curved edges that make it look like it has no bezels, to an industry-leading 1000 nits of brightness when set to auto and used outdoors. Samsung has a new mode that cranks it to a level of brightness we've never seen on a smartphone. It will look better in all situations, especially outdoors.

The screen to phone ratio is also great with Samsung, offering nearly no bezels on the sides and small ones up top and on bottom. We have no doubt the new iPhone 7 Plus screen is gorgeous, but it's not a Samsung AMOLED.
