Before we get into some quick notes about the iPhone 5s iOS 10.3.3 update's performance, here are a few details about the download and installation process.

If you're coming to iOS 10.3.3 from iOS 10.3.2, expect the download to take a minute or so and the installation to take about 7-10 minutes.

If you're coming to iOS 10.3.3 from an older iOS update, your download will be much larger and your installation could take a lot longer. For more on the iOS 10.3.3 download and installation time, take a look at our walkthrough.

We've spent a few weeks with the iPhone 5s iOS 10.3.3 update and so far, the software is holding up quite well.

Battery life and connectivity (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular service) are behaving normally. We haven't experienced any weird battery drain and our connections are solid. We haven't noticed any drops in speed or hangups.

We haven't run into any major problems with any of our core applications. Popular apps like Twitter, Google Maps, Chrome, Gmail, and Spotify appear to be working fine.

The phone in our possession randomly rebooted itself a few times on iOS 10.3.2 but iOS 10.3.3 has been stable. Zero reboots thus far.

Animations and transitions are crisp and we aren't seeing a ton of lag when we open our folders and our various apps. Lag was an issue for us on older versions of iOS 10.

Our experience on iOS 10.3.3 has been pretty solid. Stability is great and the security patches make it worthy of your consideration.

If you're feeling leery about making the upgrade, take a look at our reasons to and not to install the iOS 10.3.3 update on the iPhone.

My experience with my 5s (and AT&T) has been QUITE different than what you describe above. On a daily basis since this upgrade: Calls simply not connecting, texts not going through…. forcing me to reboot the phone. Suddenly everything works… for a while….and then it happens again….rinse & repeat. Completely frustrating… one has to really wonder if they are pushing out the ‘planned obsolescence’ code in these ‘upgrades’.

I’m having the same issue as the people in the previous comments, ever since the up date my phone is constantly shutting off and not turning back for an hour of so and only a soft reset will turn it back on, and just this past week it isn’t letting me receive calls, I can make them but when people try and call me it goes straight to voicemail… and yes I’ve done all the trouble shooting making sure no calls are block, the announce calls is on always, a soft reset, and the whole putting it on airplane mode for 5 seconds and taking it off then had my buddy try and call and it still goes straight to voice mail! and this is all in places that I have full service and at my house I’m even connected to WiFi with full service. and I just bought this phone from the Verizon store brand new 4 months ago. None of these problems started till just recently when I finally decided to do the 10.3.1 update. Is that a coincidence or is there a connection with these problems from the update?

Regarding your remark that for iPhone 5s, to wit: battery life and connectivity are holding up – this is not the case for me. Battery life is tremendously degraded and bluetooth connectivity to Lexus bluetooth is having an annoying problem. Nothing -repeat: NOTHING – has changed in the car. With the upgrade to IOS 10.3.1, when the car is started and the phone is paired, it immediately thinks there is a phone call in progress and I must hold down the disconnect button for more than 10 seconds for the disconnect to take place. Every. time. I. start. the. car.
These 2 problems with the new patch to IOS 10.3.1 make it untenable for me.

my iphone 5 has completely messed up
on downloading the update . All it does now is the apple symbol comes on the screen for about 10 secs then goes off then comes back on again , it does this continuously until
the battery goes flat , it wont turn off , reset or anything, when u plug it in to charge it it just continues the cycle !!!
any ideas how to correct it ?

As of 05/20/2017 I don’t see any comments from 5s users referencing the 10.3.2 update, only the 10.3.1 update and associated problems. Would be curious if any 5s users with 10.3.1 problems see an improvement with 10.3.2
My 5s is still at 9.3.3 and on AT&T and everything works fine. I have zero desire to break car bluetooth or general AT&T connectivity nor experience any kind of instability so am waiting to hear applicable success stories.

I am a user of iphone 5s and thought of upgrading to 10.3.2 and fall into trap of Apple. In mid of upgrading, the phone stuck at apple logo. tried several options available on internet to revive the phone and spend around USD 80 to buy an option online to reset setting, however, all went into drain. I was awake till morning 4 AM and finally decided to hit the bed with dead phone. Visited the apple store and they said that your installation is corrupted. And they have to delete everything and then reload to 10.3.2. Horrible, however no option since I was a a flight during evening hours and spent another USD 100 the to restore. And finally the phone is up. But pathetic battery draining issue, during unlocking screen freeze or show some blue color while opening. Phone hangs and not sure when suddenly I will again face a issue with this iphone. I am sure apple is not going to help in returning the money i spent or to reduce the harassment i faced, except regret inconvenience. I am using this 5s since fall 2013 but now started thinking how long Apple users have to face the cost being connected to Apple devices. Shame on not able to find any resolution to battery draining or other issues. They have the biggest development force and highly paid employees but the result is in front of all. God bless.
