The iPhone SE iOS 11.4.1 update is a small upgrade with a short list of changes. That said, it’s an important update for your iPhone SE and it could have a tremendous impact on your device’s performance.

Apple’s pushed its fifteenth iOS 11 update to the iPhone SE. Unlike its predecessor (iOS 11.4), the iOS 11.4.1 update is focused on fixing bugs and improving security. iOS 11.4 was a milestone upgrade with a mix of new features, patches, and bug fixes.

If your iPhone SE is currently running iOS 11.4, you get the shortest list of changes with your iOS 11.4.1 update.

If you’re currently running iOS 10 or an older version of iOS 11, your iOS 11.4.1 update will be much larger due to the features and fixes from the iOS updates you skipped. They’re baked into your upgrade.

We’re having a pretty good experience on the newest version of iOS 11, but some iPhone SE users are reporting issues with battery life, connectivity, performance, first and third-party apps.

If you're upgrading from iOS 11.4, you're looking at a fairly substantial download. That said, if your iPhone SE is connected to a high speed Wi-Fi network, the iOS 11.4.1 update should take just a few minutes to download.

The iOS 11.4.1 installation process will take longer than the download. It took about seven minutes on our iPhone SE.

If you're jumping up from an older version of iOS, say iOS 11.3.1, your iOS 11.4.1 update will be bigger and the installation will take longer. iOS 11.4.1 was a 707MB download on one of our iPhone SE models.

For more on the iOS 11.4.1 installation and download time, take a look at our full length walkthrough. It'll prepare you for the installation.

We've been using iOS 11.4.1 on iPhone SE for an extended period of time and the update is still performing quite well.

We haven't noticed any weird battery drain or issues with connectivity. GPS, cellular data, and our Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections remain strong.

The iPhone SE's iOS 11.4.1 update feels snappy and we haven't noticed any app crashes, random reboots, or lockups.

We continue to notice occasional keyboard lag and some lag opening up Control Center, but folders open up quickly. So do our apps. This mirrors our experience on iOS 11.2.6, iOS 11.3, iOS 11.3.1, and iOS 11.4.

For the moment, the iOS 11.4.1 update feels stable. That obviously could change down the road and we'll let you know if it does.

I use iPhone6, my wife uses iPhone SE, we have been using Apple products (phone, laptops) since 2 years and liked the quality of hardware and software robustness. But recently both of us have got same issues after the upgrade to new iOS 11.03, battery drains faster, the battery indicator shows sufficient power yet phone switches off, apps crash. Apple has become greedy that it has resorted to this tactics used by Android Phone manufacturers. It has let down all my expectations!

I have upgraded the SE iphone to 11.2.2 cersion and I’m very upset. This upgrade cases issue with my battery. Consumption of my battery grows 20time more than it was before upgrade. Now I have to charge my iPhone SE every 5 hours even where almost all funcions are off. What have you done and what have you released…this is not a forst time when I got dosapointed on the new releases of this software…
