8 iPhone Privacy Settings You Need to Change

Location-Based iAds

Any apps that provide advertising via Apple's iAds framework give you ads based on your location if you have Location-Based iAds enabled. So for example, an ad can appear from a retailer in your area.

However, advertisements are bad enough and tacking your location onto them is just awful. While disabling Location-Based iAds doesn't get rid of ads, it at least prevents these ads from tracking your location.

To disable, open up the Settings app and navigate to Privacy > Location Services > System Services. You’ll see a list of various toggle settings that you can turn off and on. One of them is Location-Based iAds.
