A Digital Swiss Army Knife: New Griffin Stylus is also Pen and Laser Pointer

Griffin Technology announced a new inking accessory for tablets or smartphones that will also be useful in other ways. You can now ink digitally, traditionally on paper, and point to your heart’s content while making presentations.

I love my Stylus + Pen, but if you make a lot of presentations as a teacher, public speaker or sales person, having a good laser pointer helps too. The Griffin stylus “is like a ‘digital Swiss Army knife'” for the digital age, packing all three features into one pen.

The Stylus + Pen + Laser Pointer inks on your tablet with a tip made of a soft rubber. It looks exactly like the various styli we’ve reviewed here in the past. It will probably feel like writing with a felt tip marker, if past experience holds true.

The laser puts a red dot on the screen right where you want it when making presentations, whether you project from your iPad, tablet or laptop. That pinpoint accuracy might be useful for driving the teacher crazy by putting that little red dot on her forehead. Use the ballpoint pen when you meet those Luddites who think paper is king.

Griffin says artists can sketch, draw or touch up photos with it. Students can take notes in class or mark up the PDFs their teachers email them. Office workers will enjoy signing PDF forms without having to print them.
