Amazon Paying $100 More Than Gazelle for Your Old iPad 2

Published

on

If you’re selling your iPad 2 to buy the iPad 3, or iPad HD, I just found the best place to trade in your old iPad.

Surprisingly, Amazon is paying a huge premium for old iPads for a limited time.

Right now you can get $100 more than Gazelle and Nextworth if you trade in your iPad at Amazon.

Even the cheapest price Amazon is offering for a 16GB iPad 2 with scratches, dents and wear is more than you can get for a 32GB iPad 2 in flawless condition at Gazelle.

Best iPad 2 Trade in Prices

Amazon is offering top dollar for your old iPad 2.

We saw Gazelle offer a premium for iPads last year, and it looks like Amazon is taking the same route this year. Still, we don’t expect that these great iPad 2 trade in prices will stay high forever. In fact, this may only last one day, so get moving.

Here are the current top iPad 2 trade in prices paid by Amazon, up to $500 for the highest end models.

  • iPad 2 16GB WiFi – Up to $350
  • iPad 2 32GB WiFi – Up to $375
  • iPad 2 64GB WiFi – Up to $460
  • iPad 2 64GB WiFi + 3G – Up to $420
  • iPad 2 32GB WiFi + 3G – Up to $450
  • iPad 2 64GB WiFi + 3G – Up to $500

To trade in your iPad at Amazon, visit the Amazon Trade In page and search for iPad 2. You’ll be prompted to log in and select your iPad condition. You can also choose to accept a lower price or have your iPad returned if it doesn’t match your description.

There are some drawbacks to using the Amazon Trade In service over Gazelle and Nextworth.

The biggest downside to trading in your iPad at Amazon is that you can only choose to get Amazon credit for your device, which means you’ll need to have extra funds on hand and other items to buy at Amazon if you want to get your hands on the iPad 3, or iPad HD, on release day.

The other issues is that you only have 7 days to postmark your iPad in order to lock in your price. NextWorth offers 21 days and Gazelle offers 30 days, so you don’t have to be without your iPad.

For me, an extra $100 for my old iPad 2 is worth Amazon credit and going without for a week.
