Published

on

Black Friday 2014 kicks off in just over a month and it remains one of the most anticipated shopping days of the year. Here is a look at the Apple Black Friday 2014 deals so you know what to expect from Apple and other retailers like Walmart and Best Buy later this year.

Apple Black Friday deals are a sure thing, but the exact discounts and devices vary from year to year. Last year we saw discounts arrive on even the newest devices and this year you can certainly expect Black Friday iPad Air 2 deals and even Black Friday iPhone 6 deals from retailers like Walmart, Best Buy and Target.

Black Friday is a major shopping event that takes place the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. During the past two years the shopping hype spread to Thanksgiving day and the weeks leading up to Black Friday.

Shoppers can look forward to Apple Black Friday 2014 deals across product lines and at many stores.

Shoppers can look forward to Apple Black Friday 2014 deals across product lines and at many stores.

Apple Black Friday 2014 deals will start the week of Thanksgiving and you can count on various retailers offering discounts online and in-store. Many times the Apple Black Friday deals are doorbusters that sell out quickly, but we’ve seen Walmart deliver guaranteed savings on iPad Black Friday deals last year.

After covering Black Friday deals for nearly a decade and observing the shifts and Apple Black Friday 2014 deals we have a very good idea about what shoppers can expect for Black Friday 2014.

Apple Black Friday 2014 Deals vs Retailers

You can count on Apple Black Friday Deals from Apple and from retailers like Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, Target and others. The official Apple Black Friday deals typically do not offer as big of a discount, but they are easier to buy.

In 2013 Apple offered Black Friday deals in the form of gift cards from $25 to $150 depending on the item. Apple did not offer any iPhone Black Friday deals.

Apple Black Friday 2014 deals will vary between the Apple Store and retailers.

Retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Target and others responded with small price cuts and gift card deals of their own, including iPhone Black Friday deals that chopped the price of the new iPhone 5s up to $86 on a two-year contract.

Expect to see the official Apple Black Friday 2014 deals online and in stores, and for quantities to last longer than those from retailers.

We will hear about the Apple Black Friday deals in late November, and Apple will likely confirm the discounts on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

iPhone Black Friday 2014 Deals

iPhone Black Friday 2014 deals will likely includes some iPhone 6 deals.

iPhone Black Friday 2014 deals will likely includes some iPhone 6 deals.

You can count on some iPhone 6 Black Friday deals at retailers like Target, Best Buy and Walmart. We may see a few iPhone 6 Plus Black Friday deals, but expect a bigger focus on the iPhone 6. You can also count on many iPhone 5s Black Friday deals.

Based on earlier Apple Black Friday deals you can expect the following iPhone Black Friday 2014 deals;

  • iPhone 6 – Small discounts at Walmart or Target plus the possibility of $50 to $75 in gift card savings.
  • iPhone 6 Plus – Possibly $50 to $75 in gift card savings.
  • iPhone 5s – An iPhone 5s under $50 in discounts or gift card savings. Chance of free options when discount and gift card are combined.
  • iPhone Off Contract – $100 or more off an off contract pre-paid iPhone 5s.

We may see more restraint on iPhone 6 Black Friday deals due to the new design and features, but it is still possible that retailers will make a major push with iPhone Black Friday deals in 2014.

iPad Black Friday 2014 Deals

You can count on iPad Black Friday deals this year.

You can count on iPad Black Friday deals this year.

iPad Black Friday 2014 deals are something you will not miss this year. We even expect to see iPad Air 2 deals and iPad mini 3 deals from Apple and retailers.

Apple will likely deliver gift cards from $50 to $75 with many iPad purchases, but we don’t know how low Apple will push the iPad mini 1. Shoppers can already buy an iPad mini 1 for $209 refurbished at Apple, and a starting price of $249 retail means there is a good chance for spectacular discounts.

  • iPad Air 2 – $75 gift card from Apple.
  • iPad Air & Older iPads – $50 to $100 discounts possible.
  • iPad mini 3 – $50 gift card from Apple.
  • iPad mini 2 – $50 discount or gift card possible.
  • iPad mini – Real chance for sub $200 iPad mini Black Friday deals.

None of these deals are concrete, but based on the savings for the last several years there is a very good chance you can expect big iPad Black Friday 2014 deals.

iMac & MacBook Black Friday 2014 Deals

Deals on the MacBookPro Retina, MacBook Air and even the iMac are expected.

Deals on the MacBook Pro Retina, MacBook Air and even the iMac are expected.

Other sure-fire Apple Black Friday 2014 deals include discounts on the iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and MacBook Retina. Here’s what you can expect to save on an Apple computer this year.

  • MacBook Air – $150 off in cash or gift cards
  • MacBook Pro Retina – $150 to $200 off in cash or gift cards
  • iMac – $50 to $200 off in cash or gift cards

It’s unclear if we’ll see any iMac Black Friday deals on the new iMac Retina with a 5k display, but we could see more deals than last year on the older model without a 5k display.

iPod Black Friday 2014 Deals

iPod Black Friday deals are a sure bet.

iPod Black Friday deals are a sure bet.

With no new iPod touch on the market it’s possible that we’ll see a lot of iPod Black Friday deals this year that capitalize on the older device and Apple’s recent price drop to $199 for the iPod touch.

  • iPod touch – $50+ in savings with gift card or cash
  • iPod nano – $45 to $50 in savings with gift card or cash

If these are correct, Black Friday will remain a good time to buy an iPod touch.

Accessories & Apple TV Black Friday Deals

We will also likely see huge Black Friday deals on accessories like Beats, cases, covers, apps and anything you can plug-in or connect to an iPhone or iPad. We can also count on Apple TV Black Friday deals that deliver $25 or more in savings.

You can count on many of these deals on Apple TV to include gift cards. Beats Black Friday 2014 deals may include a mix of cash and gift card savings.

Count on $25 or more off the Apple TV.

It is possible that some of these Apple Black Friday 2014 deal predictions will not come true, but there is a very good chance that you will see these types of deals somewhere on Black Friday. The biggest question will be if you can get one.

For me the problems started when I started to download Yosemite. I left my laptop (mid 2014 Macbook Pro) on the table and left home. When I returned the download had finished but the system was totally freezed. I’ve never had any problems with my Mac and now this. Okay, I held down power button and shut down the computer. Downloaded the update again and started installing. After installation and reboot it showed an error – failed to install Yosemite. Okay, I should have stopped there but no. I installed again and finally got it working. After using it for half an hour I got 3 freezes! Everything on the screen just froze, even the mouse but music kept playing. Those freezes lasted for 10-20 seconds. Did couple of more restarts and they haven’t occured in 2 days but I still see a significant loss in battery life. I usually lasted couple of days with one charge but now it’s about half of that. And I’m not quite sure I like the new “look”. A bit too bright and colourful for my taste. So overall impressions on Yosemite are quite bad, there are many bugs that need fixing. I think Maverick was a way better improvement and Yosemite is more like a degeneration. It’s sad that a company like Apple is letting down their standards and releasing BETA versions as consumer ready products.
