Apple Likely Won’t Announce iPhone 5 on September 7th

Earlier today, we told you about the possibility of Apple’s fall event falling on September 7th which meant that an iPhone 5 announcement would likely be taking place on that day.

Well, cold water has been splashed all over that rumor though as the very reliable Jim Dalrymple from The Loop is reporting that Apple will not be hosting an event that day which means that an iPhone 5 announcement will be coming on another day.

So, it’s probably safe to cross that date off of your calender. That could be a good thing though. Maybe Apple will make an announcement during the six days prior to September 7th.

iPhone 4

Remember, the Samsung Galaxy S II is probably going to be touching down in September and the Motorola Droid Bionic will likely launch September 8th so it would make sense for Apple to try and take some steam out of both launches with an early September announcement.

September still seems to be the month for the iPhone 5’s arrival but September 7th likely won’t be the day it arrives.
