At Least 62 Facebook Employees Are on Google+

Published

on

If Facebook is feeling threatened by Google+, they sure have a strange way of showing it. It has been revealed by Google+ member (and Huffington Post editor) Craig Kanalley that 62 current employees of Facebook (including CEO Mark Zuckerberg) have profiles on Google’s new social network.

The profile is real, the wall post isn't.

The list also includes seven non-Zuckerberg executives. In addition to the 62 current employees, two co-founders who are no longer with the company are also on Google’s network.

So after Zuckberg made headlines by having the most popular profile on Google+, and now this – what’s the deal with Facebook’s approach to Google+?

Our guess is that they’re trying to:

  1. project the image of a company who isn’t threatened by its new rival
  2. steal some headlines from Google with the popularity of their own figures on the new network

Whether it will ultimately be successful or not in fending off the threat of Google+ remains to be seen, but it is certainly an interesting strategy.

the labels attached to the names and the amount of those from fb who joined g+, this shows they are researching. they have project directors, managers and what look like teams for each group (design, engineering and marketing) hard at work doing what they’re paid for. they are trying to pick it apart before they decide whether or not they’re scared of g+
