AT&T One X & One X+ Android 4.2 Updates Lagging, Still Coming

HTC has partially outlined its plans for the still missing AT&T HTC One X and HTC One X+ Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates, confirming that its still hoping to receive approval this month, something that would translate into release dates for both.

Last year, HTC began rolling out the HTC One X and HTC One X+ Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates. Months later, the updates are still missing for device owners that call AT&T home. And while HTC still hasn’t acknowledged concrete release dates for the two missing updates, the company says that it’s hoping to receive approval during the month of January.

The HTC One X may never get Android 4.4 KitKat.

According to Mo Versi, HTC’s Executive Director of Product Management, the updates are in the lab and the company is progressing towards an eventual release. While it may not seem like much, it’s confirmation that the company is still working to get these updates out to customers, something that AT&T itself has yet to confirm.

Versi believes that both updates will be out this month though he says that he will relay final release dates once they get closer and once they receive certification. That could, and should, happen sometime soon.

The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean updates for the HTC One X and HTC One X+ will deliver the new Sense 5 to AT&T users. Sense 5 first emerged with the HTC One in April of last year and delivers a host of new features to device owners including the new HTC BlinkFeed. HTC’s social home screen feature.

The update is almost certainly going to be the last update for both of these phones as rumors, and HTC itself, have acknowledged that there are no current plans for an HTC One X Android 4.4 KitKat update. Rumors suggest that an HTC One X+ Android 4.4 KitKat update will not be coming either.

Those looking to snag Android 4.3 or Android 4.4 KitKat likely won’t be able to do it officially though the HTC development community will likely offer ways to unofficially snag some of the features that come along with Google’s latest Android update.

    Hi
In that twitter conversation @Chunder350 asked about 4.2 Updates and not 4.3.
I guess Mo Versi is talking about 4.2 update for HTC One X and HTC One X+ and not 4.2.
