August 11-14 Forzathon Tips: How to Earn Lucky Escapes + Win a Lola

The August 11th to 14th Forzathon lets you win the Lola #6 Penske Sunoco T70, 70,000 XP and 120,000 Credits. There was a change to this Forza Horizon 3 Forzathon that makes it easier to get the free Lola car. This three day event starts on Friday and runs through the weekend so you have plenty of time to complete these challenges. The hardest one will be earning 20 lucky escapes, but we’ll show you how to do those easily. With our August Forzathon tips, you will be able to lock down these rewards faster than you can say Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec.C Type RA-R.

You don’t need to use a specific car to win the Lola #6 Penske Sunoco T70, but you will need to use a specific type of car — a classic racer. If you have a few barn finds, you likely already have at least one, but if not you can pick up a cheap one in the Auto Show or Auction House. Don’t feel like you need to buy a top of the line car for this, since you just want to complete these items, instead of going for the win.

We’ll show you how to quickly win the Lola and how to perform Lucky Escapes easily in Forza Horizon 3. You can practice these now, but you cannot start completing these challenges until August 11th. If rewards don’t show up, check out how to fix it in our Forza Horizon 3 problems guide.

There are four challenges in this August Forzathon, and you can complete three of them at the same time if you are lucky and then you’ll be able to focus on the Lucky Escapes. You only need to go online for one of these challenges, but you should be able to complete three of them at once online.

• Superb Acceleration: Complete a Race in a Classic Racer to earn 55,000 XP
• Faded Feathers: Complete an Online Adventure in a Classic Racer to win the Lola #6 Penske Sunoco T70
• More Than Lucky: Perform 20 Lucky Escapes to receive 120,000 CR
• Season Opener: Complete ANY event to earn 15,000 XP

It’s going to be easier to complete an online adventure in a Classic Racer with a private online match, rather than a public one. If you join a public one at any point other than race one, you will need to stick around through the partial adventure and then complete a full adventure.

How to Perform Lucky Escape Skills in Fora Horizon 3

What is a Lucky Escape Skill? It’s a drift skill followed immediately with a near miss skill. You can’t trade paint, and you can’t crash right after, so you will need to practice this to get it just right. You don’t need to do this in a classic racer, so you can pick your favorite car to get this one done.

The easiest way to do this is to drive towards oncoming traffic, drift slightly (it can be an e-drift) and then slide just to the side to get the near miss. You don’t need a higher tier miss or drift skills, but they work if you happen to get a great or ultimate You must do the drift then the near miss, it is not interchangeable.
