Automatron Fallout 4 DLC Release: 5 Things to Expect & 4 Not To

Published

on

The first Fallout 4 DLC release date will land in March. While we wait for the Automatron release date to arrive, this is what we expect and don’t expect from the Automatron release for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

In February, Bethesda confirmed a flurry of important Fallout 4 details. The developer confirmed a brand new Survival Mode. It confirmed some specifics regarding the mod tool for PC and the Fallout 4 mod release date for Xbox One and PS4.

The company also went into detail about its first three Fallout 4 DLC releases, one of which is set to arrive later on this month.

Bethesda’s first three Fallout 4 DLC add-ons include Far Harbor (May, 2016), Wasteland Workshop (April, 2016), and Automatron. Automatron is first in line and it will be coming to Fallout 4 Season Pass owners and retailers around the country later this month.

Bethesda’s finally confirmed some concrete details regarding the Automatron release date on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The first Fallout 4 DLC release date will land on March 22nd, just a few short days from now.

With a lot of questions still swirling around the Automatron release we want to do our best to explain what to expect and what not to expect from the first Fallout 4 DLC release and release date.

This roundup takes official Automatron details into account and it will help you set your own expectations as we push toward the official release.

Expect These Automatron Achievements

Expect These Automatron Achievements

Earlier this month, Bethesda released its Fallout 4 1.4 update for the PC. The update brought bug fixes, improvements to settlement attacks, and some new items for settlements. It also delivered support for Automatron.

The Fallout 4 1.4 patch adds support for Bethesda's upcoming DLC add-ons which meant that it needed to come to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 before the Automatron release. Bethesda already confirmed that that would be the case.

Last week, Bethesda finally released the 1.4 patch for the Xbox One and PS4. The 1.4 update for console (like the PC update) delivered achievements for Automatron. Expect these to stick after the release on March 22nd:

- Headhunting: Complete Headhunting.

- Mechanical Menace: Complete Mechanical Menace.

- The Most Toys: Build 10 Robot Mods.

- Restoring Order: Complete Restoring Order.

- Robot Hunter: Unlock 10 Robot Mods.

This was one disjointed article. Were drugs involved?

I just wish Bethesda would take their fist out of their colons and give us the dates of the dlc releases. I am getting extremely tired of searching online every day and reading the same sodding articles. An actual date. That’s all I ask. If it’s 29th of march then fine. At least that’s something concrete to look forward to. They need to know that being mysterious about everything does not make them interesting or cool. Neither does wearable technology. I’m ranting because ive read this article numerous times.

Ok so now its the 10th of March and i still don’t know if i have the season pass or not? I bought and redeemed it in April …

      • Jason Gardner

        03/18/2016 at 11:43 am

If you bought it in April, then wouldn’t logic dictate that you do indeed have it?

        • Charles Walters

          03/19/2016 at 3:49 pm

Actually logic would dictate that i meant February not April cause it’s not April 2016 yet and FO4 was not released yet in April 2015… Duhhhh

There is no new information here. In fact, the beta for Automaton started like a week ago, the patch was already confirmed and on the Steam beta program. Telling people to expect bugs and no deals on dlc falls in the category of duh. This was simply click bait.

considering the consoles are next GEN….and fo4 is the same old crap….but we fork-out another 50 bucks for yet another glicth-ridded old GEN game…..NOT BUYing DLC…stuff it beth!!

    • Wallace

      03/03/2016 at 10:28 pm

How is this old gen it’s only on ps4 Xbox one and pc ? And glitch ridden? Having 4 days into it and not finding any major glitches doesn’t seem to bad to me , just sounds like you are a Bethesda hater.

    • Ryan

      03/04/2016 at 9:29 am

HEy buddy everybody has their opinion of fallout but it’s not the same old crap,it’s actually quite fun there’s plenty of other games to play instead of ripping on an amazing game

    • James Whitehall

      03/04/2016 at 2:16 pm

The consoles aren’t next gen, they’re current gen. Fallout 4 may not have the graphical fidelity of say, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, but it has eons of gameplay, a solid, not destructive fanbase, reaonably priced DLC which promises to add worthwhile content and near limitless potential for mods and expansions. While not perfect, its unfair to call it “the same old crap” when you probably bought Call of Duty, or Fifa, or Forza and thought it was stunning.

F4 is the most innovative game I’ve seen in a while. It did come out on only next gen comments so your wrong about that. Of course graphically F4 doesn’t push the limits of the PS4’s hardware capabilities, but there are soooo many great game play mechanics–you can’t have both!

  7. Rio

    03/04/2016 at 12:13 am

Next gen FO4 certainly is not, but its not exactly glitch ridden either.

Pretty bad article, and definitely didn’t need to be a slideshow since it said next to nothing.

    1. It says expect the patch on consoles first, then says in later slides that -since there is no exclusivity- there everything should be released on the same days… which is it? Make up your mind…

    2. No crap expect a beta for new content, if they didn’t do one then we’d certainly need to expect huge bugs (more on this later). What’s disturbing is that the beta is going to take place so close to release for a game that’s base components still have big bugs they’ve yet to fix. Doesn’t promote a lot of confidence in me. (I’ve beta’d a lot of games/software, this short window is troubling).

    3. Welcome to the world of tomorrow, where dlc is sold everwhere. Seriously, why is this a slide? Even if it wasn’t going to be sold through many outlets, what does it matter really when later you say not to expect discounts? The whole point of the competition is to promote better prices, but that won’t happen here; Bethesda made that a slim chance when they set pretty fair prices for the standalone dlc even before the pass price hike. Don’t like the pass price? Buy all 3 announced dlc standalone and save $10, but don’t come crying when more dlc comes and you and up paying more. Frankly the stand alone prices, as long as the big $25 dlc is worth it, are fair enough that the pass almost doesn’t need to be a thing (if you didn’t get it for its original $30)

    4. Don’t know why “expect bugs” is such a surprise that needs to be told for a game that still has so many in its base experience. Hell even the last patch didn’t fix what it was supposed to (just today I ran into disappearing text in early conversations with Preston.. which should have been fixed) so why expect dlc to be any better, even with a beta behind it? So many people have different experiences even though the game -as said in one of the slides- is practically the same across the board that it’s hard to say it is the same across the board. (Just looking at bug reports made on the fallout wiki, PC still seems to have the most, but that’s my rough tally). If you know Bethesda, then you know there will be bugs.. it’s common knowledge.

    5. Thanks for telling us that in the internet age we should expect a trailer. Welcome to the world of tomorrow.

    6. See my 1st point… all you’re doing is contradicting yourself

    7. See my 3rd point.

    8. Aside from what I already said about the subtle differences because of the bugs people experience, why would the versions be different? It’s not really that common of a practice any more to make different experiences (its also not cost effective) unless some big exclusivity deal is struck. There wasn’t one, so… again why are we here?

    9. Also well known is the fact that dlc doesn’t get sold physically. When it was, it was only because the digital distribution model was new and unproven. Don’t know why anyone would expect to see a physical dlc outting here. That shirt sure is nice though.

So much Click-Bait on these so called ‘news’ sites,

    Basically –

    There is DLC coming
The Beta testers will find bugs that will be fixed.
The price of $10 isn’t likely to be slashed for any ‘deals’
All platforms will have the same quests etc (like the whole game)
