HTC U11 and U11 Plus

If the small bezels on the Google Pixel 2 XL aren't important to you, consider the HTC U11 or the upcoming U11 Plus. They are both worthy replacements. 

The HTC U11 has a quality 5.5-inch display, the same internal specs and power as the Pixel 2 XL, and a great 12 Megapixel camera on the back. It also features water-resistance and a beautiful design. You're getting Android 7.0 Nougat instead of Oreo, but updates should come before the end of the year. Reviews all around the web love the HTC U11, but it has bigger bezels and a smaller screen than the Galaxy S8 or new Pixel 2 XL. Everything else about it is nearly perfect. 

With that said, in the near future HTC is going to announce a new and improved HTC U11 Plus with a bigger 6-inch screen, smaller bezels, and an even better experience. This one, if you can wait, will surely be a great Pixel 2 XL alternative as they're the same size in terms of screen size. The image above is a leak of the new HTC U11 Pro. We don't know too much about it yet, but either U11 model is a good choice.
