Best iOS 8.4 Cydia Tweaks for Better Photos

For better photos on your iPhone, here are some of the best iOS 8.4 Cydia tweaks that focus on the iPhone camera and photos.

An iOS 8.4 jailbreak has been available for over a month now, giving users a lot of time to jailbreak their devices and install some great Cydia tweaks, but if you’re looking to take your iPhone photos to the next level, there are a handful of tweaks that can get you there.

The iPhone has had one of the best cameras on the market, making it a great smartphone camera to take photos with, leaving behind your trusty point-and-shoot camera in order to lighten your pockets and kill two birds with one stone.

The camera in iOS 8, especially, has some great features, like panoramas, slo-mo video, and burst mode, which allows you to take a up to 10 photos per second during fast-paced action in order catch it all on camera.

However, you can add way more features to your iPhone’s camera if your device is jailbroken, and while these tweaks may not exactly give you better photos and videos in the end, they can make your photo-taking experiencing much better.

AFVideo

With the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, users get continuous autofocus when shooting video. This means that the camera is constantly re-focusing in order to get the ever-changing subject in focus so that nothing is blurred out.

Internal upgrades should arrive with the iPhone 6s.

However, older iPhones don’t have this capability, but you can easily add it to your iPhone 5s or older by installing a Cydia tweak called AFVideo.

The tweak is free and there are no options to configure after you install it, making it one of the most well-hidden tweaks that you’ll never notice.

QuickShoot

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you needed to take a photo really quickly, but by the time you finally got the camera open, the moment passed?

It’s annoying to say the least, but a tweak called QuickShoot can solve this problem.

Essentially, QuickShoot allows you to take a quick photo or even record a video by setting it as a shortcut. For instance, you can set it up so that by just triple-tapping the Home button will instantly take a photo. There’s no need to open up the Camera app at all, making it the quickest method there is for taking pictures.

TapTapFlip

When switching between the front-facing camera and the rear-facing camera, there’s a small button in the top-right corner that allows you to do this.

However, it always seems that the button is so small that it takes a few tries until you finally hit it, which can be super annoying, but a tweak called TapTapFlip makes it really easy to switch between the front and rear cameras.

All you have to do is double-tap anywhere in the Camera app and the camera will flip. It’s a simple tweak, but it can save you a whole lot of rage.

NoPhotosCollection

One thing I loved about older versions of iOS was how simple the Photos app was compared to what it is now in iOS 8. More specifically, the new Collections tab is something that I never use and it really just gets in the way for the most part.

However, NoPhotosCollection is a tweak that gets rid of the Collections tab and simply sticks with the Albums tab at the bottom, providing a simpler interface for iOS users and getting rid of the unnecessary clutter.

NoRecentlyDeleted

iOS 8 introduced a Recently Deleted folder in the Photos app, which takes photos that you delete and puts them in this folder.

That’s good and all, but when you delete a photo, it doesn’t actually get deleted and erased from your iPhone, but rather just gets put in another folder. This means that in order to truly delete a photo from your iPhone, you have to delete it twice, which is less than convenient.

However, NoRecentlyDeleted gets rid of this folder, so that when you delete a photo the first time, it truly gets erased.
