Lenovo Yoga Book with Windows
The Lenovo Yoga Book with Windows is a low-cost Surface Pro alternative that's perfect for artists and note-takers that still like writing with pen and paper.
From far away, this device almost looks like a typical laptop. It has a 1,920 x 1,200 LED touch display and a keyboard deck. That keyboard deck doesn't actually have any physical keys. It's loaded with touch sensors instead. When you're ready to type, press a button and the touch-sensitive keyboard with vibration motor appears.
This touch-sensitive area turns into a digital writer's pad when the keyboard isn't on and that's why its great for artists. Lay the included paper pad on the touch-sensitive area to write on real paper and get a digital copy at the same time. The Yoga Book's sensor pad detects 2,048 levels of pressure as you write or draw.
When you're ready to watch videos or browse the internet in Microsoft Edge, fold the display back for a tablet-like experience. Like other Yoga notebooks, the Yoga Book with Windows has a watchband hinge that folds in both directions.
If you are considering buying the Yoga Book with Windows, know it's not very configurable. All models have an Intel Atom x5 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8-megapixel camera and a front-facing web camera. This Surface Pro alternative lasts 13 hours on a single charge, according to Lenovo.
Purchase the Yoga Book at Amazon for $369 and you get the laptop itself, 1 Real Pen, 1 Book Pad and 3 ink refills. You also get Microsoft Office Mobile apps for free because this notebook has a 10.1-inch display.
