5 Best Windows 10 Laptops Under $500 in 2018

The Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA proves that you don’t have to spend $799 on a 2017 Surface Pro to get a solid Windows 10 2-in-1 experience.

The 13.3-inch laptop comes with an Intel Core m3 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid state storage. That’s more RAM and storage space than most devices in its price range get. Because of the solid state storage, the ZenBook Flip starts up and wakes from sleep faster than other notebooks in its class.

It’s the ZenBook’s 13.3-inch HD touchscreen and hinges that allow it to replace a tablet. The screen flips onto the laptop's bottom, giving you a solid way to interact with Windows 10’s Tablet Mode without repeatedly raising your hands to tap on-screen elements as you would on other laptops with a touchscreen.

The only thing you miss out on with this PC are ports. The ZenBook Flip UX360CA has 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB Type-C port, a memory card reader and a headphone jack. You need a micro HDMI adapter to connect it to a monitor, though. That’s very inconvenient and something you must factor into the laptop’s overall cost.

Asus includes a laptop sleeve with the $479.99 laptop.

You should also take a look at refurbished options. I managed to find a Windows 10 Dell Laptop with a Core i5 CPU, 128 gigabytes of SSD storage, and 8 gigs of RAM for less than $300 which I think is a great buy.
