Case-Mate Pop Case for Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Published

on

I have been checking out cases for my Galaxy Nexus lately. After my iPhone back glass got busted by a very minor fall and my wife busting her iPhone’s front glass a couple of weeks ago, I am thinking about protecting my phones better. I really like using a device without a case, but they cost too much to risk damaging. What I look for in a case one that offers adequate protection, looks nice, and doesn’t make the phone too bulky.

I received the Case-Mate Pop for the Galaxy Nexus from Cases.com the other day. It addresses all my needs and it’s pretty inexpensive as well. It costs $29.00 and comes in grey/black and pink/black.

The body of the Case-Mate Pop is made with a lightweight polycarbonate plastic and is lined with a soft rubber to protect from impact.

There is the case and an info card in the box, that’s it.

The inside of the case is a protective rubber with an elaborate design. The back has a soft rubber (in grey) on the sides to assist with grip. This rubber surrounds the plastic polycarbonate shell.

On the sides of the case, there are raised rubber buttons that match up with the Galaxy Nexus’ buttons and they work just fine. I’ve had no issues with the buttons at all.

The bottom of the case has cutouts to expose the mic, speaker jack, and charge/sync cable port. There is plenty of room for headphones and sync cables to slide in there. The rear of the case has cutouts for the camera and speaker.

Bottom line, this is a pretty solid, yet simple case that does all that most need it to do.

You can grab one of these from Cases.com for $29 in grey/black or pink/black.

Will this case work with the extended battery?

If I’m not mistaken, the extended battery does add a little bulk to the depth. That said, I seriously doubt it would fit in this case. Is pretty snug with the regular setup.

I have the battery and the case. Both fit.
