Courier Like iOS App Taposé Rejected by Apple

Published

on

I’m sure there are still memories of the Microsoft Courier around here. It was kind of a “holy grail” and unicorn all rolled up into one. Awhile back we mentioned an iOS App called Taposé. All the hype from the company talked about this App bringing a Microsoft Courier Experience to the iPad. The demos and ideas looked pretty cool and I was certainly anxiously awaiting the release of the App late last year.

And then it appears things got sticky. The App didn’t make it in 2011 and and just yesterday on the company’s Facebook page they announced that it was rejected by Apple. No mention of it on the Tumbler site though. Of course they are going to be appeal and look at other options.

You can check out a video of Taposé below and more at this link. Of course speculation is rampant that maybe Apple is cooking up something like this. The review process of the App did seem to take a long time (I guess that never bodes well). But who knows what’s really at play here. It’s just a shame we didn’t get to check out what Taposé has to offer.

Apple will probably either purchase them and incorporate the function…or just copy it for the next iteration.

Hopefully Tapose will be ported not only to the iPad but also to Android tablets and even better Windows 8 tablets (tablets and tablet PCs) when they come out.

Read your Blog, and it does seem on the surface that Apple is not being “fair”. That being said, as many responders here and on the Blog have suggested port it to Android. You’ll make many people happy as Android’s numbers are nothing to be overlooked or scoffed at. I’m curious as this was originally written as part of Microsoft’s Courier project that it wasn’t ported to Windows as a full application when the Courier project folded.

DNel, I agree, Tapose would be nice for Android and Windows 8 tablets! But with the current track record  of announced/promised apps as well as  hardware, I am not holding my breath… and there is always hope for OneNote…

OneNote is the overlooked king of note taking applications. I love OneNote and I’m looking forward to replacing a very old T2010 that has a fan that sounds like a jet taking off. I’ll be waiting for Windows 8 tablets (tablet PC that is) to replace the old. MUST have digital inking.
