Cyber Monday iPad Deals Sparse, but $50 Incentive Offers Hope

Published

on

Several retailers offered generous discounts and gift card giveaways on Black Friday, but Cyber Monday iPad deals are sparse. However, we found one trick that can effectively discount select iPads by $50. Those looking for straightforward Cyber Monday iPad deals will be disappointed that retailers are only discounting iPads by $20.

Just about every company selling iPads offered some sort of meaningful incentive on Black Friday. For example, Target offered gift cards with the purchase of select iPads valued up to $100. Walmart and Apple joined in on the free gift card scheme. Unfortunately for consumers, nobody’s offering similar iPad deals on Cyber Monday. Walmart and Target are offering a paltry $20 discount on the iPad Air and we don’t expect Apple to budge from its $499 price.

So how do we recommend saving a meaningful amount of money on iPads on Cyber Monday if nobody’s offering iPad deals? By maxing out Best Buy’s Ship to Store promotion. Best Buy offers free shipping on orders over $25, but would rather have people come into their retail locations to pick up merchandise in order to save on shipping fees. Of course this also gives Best Buy a chance to sell consumers iPad accessories and other  goods in person.

Cyber Monday iPad Deals

Per BestBuy.com, online shoppers can earn $10 in savings codes for every $100 spent on Cyber Monday. The savings codes can be redeemed between December 9 and December 24 either in Best Buy stores or online.

While shoppers will have to pay full price for the iPad Air or a high-end iPad mini with Retina display, they can later redeem the $50 in savings codes for whatever Best Buy items they choose. According to Best Buy, there’s no minimum purchase required for redemption.

Those looking at the iPad mini with Retina display can earn $40 in savings codes. One caveat to this deal is that Best Buy’s pretty strict with spending an even $100 per $10 savings code. That means iPad buyers will have to buy at least one small item to bump them over $400 or $500 limits since the base iPads are a penny short. The purchases must be completed by 11:59PM CST on Monday.

While this Best Buy promo is a bit of a hassle, it is available to anyone without having to wait in line or deal with the Black Friday crowds.

Those looking for last year’s iPad mini will have a tough time finding any meaningful discount off of Apple’s $299 MSRP. The best price we’ve found on the iPad mini is $289.99 at MacMall.com.

Found a deal on Walmart. 279 + a bunch of accessories. Seemed to be the lowest I found.
