Droid Bionic Ice Cream Sandwich Update Moves Closer to Release

Published

on

The Motorola Droid Bionic Ice Cream Sandwich update has leaked out once again, yet another sign that the elusive update is still on the way.

Droid Bionic owners over at DroidHive have once again found a new piece of Ice Cream Sandwich software for the Droid Bionic and this time it’s version 6.7.238.

The software was pulled from the Cheesecake app once again which means that this is a piece of software that comes directly from Motorola. As far as owners can tell, the software is a lot smoother than the previous version of software .235.

The Droid Bionic ICS update release date has gotten closer.

However, we still don’t recommend any novice users try and install the leaked software as the process is a bit complicated and there is a high probability of something going wrong. More experienced users can find a detailed instruction guide over on DroidForums.

Those who aren’t familiar with the process should wait for the official update to roll out, something that we have heard could happen as soon as this week but more likely will take place later on this month.

We’ve heard mid-August is currently the slated release window for the Droid Bionic Ice Cream Sandwich update and thus far, we haven’t heard any different which is a good sign that the update is still on the way.

Still, the fact that a new update has appeared is a good sign and it could be that this update might be the final version of ICS though nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

We’re digging for more concrete information in regards to an official Droid Bionic ICS roll out and we’ll let you know what we find.

In the meantime, brave souls who want Ice Cream Sandwich early can take the plunge although again, we don’t recommend it and can’t be responsible for any issues that arise because of the leaked software.

Thanks Jason!

You have insurance for the right reasons…to commit fraud? Leave America! It is people like you who have messed this country up with the idea that consequences for your mistakes are someone else’s responsibility…

Wrong! IF he burned his business down, or drove his car off a cliff to receive insurance money from the damages, that is insurance fraud. What he is doing is trying to get a device, which he PURCHASED, to update to a software that works. The current software Verizon has supplied us with DOES NOT WORK and kills our 4G while slowing down the WIFI. Now that is a SERIOUS problem with this country. When retailers can’t supply their customers with services that are not only contracted but are their obligation.. I say ROOT AWAY my good sir, because Verizon probably won’t update for a while.

Hey dumb and dumber. It hasn’t been pushed back or not releases on time because its release date of third quarter hasn’t past yet. Does anybody even read any more. Probably not. Idiocracy the movie here we come.

I’ll either get an HTC or an iPhone when I’m eligible in May. Moto has failed me on both my original Droid and my Bionic. Both have had crappy headphone jacks, there is a dark spot on my replacement Bionic’s screen, and waiting for the Bionic, and now the ICS/JB update is proof again that Motorola can’t get it right.
