Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg Named Time’s Person of the Year

Well, well, well. Mark Zuckerberg, founder and major domo of Facebook has been named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. Here’s what the sub-lead of the article says:

For connecting more than half a billion people and mapping the social relations among them; for creating a new system of exchanging information; and for changing how we all live our lives, Mark Elliot Zuckerberg is TIME’s 2010 Person of the Year.

Zuckerberg has certainly had impact, there’s no question about that. He beat out The Tea Party, Julian Assange, Hamid Karzi, and the Chilean Miners, none of whom I’m guessing spend much time on Facebook.

Not quite sure how I feel about the selection. What are your thoughts?

My vote would have gone to the Chilean miners and their rescuers.

Because of the impact Facebook has had on so many lives, I agree with the selection. Not to take away anything from the other candidates.
