Fallout 4 Release Date

The Fallout 4 release date is November 10th for most places including the United States. This means that the game has already been available in New Zealand, Australia and European countries for a few hours now.

While the Fallout 4 release for most gamers arrives on today, some gamers will have to wait for the game to arrive.

The Fallout 4 release date in Asia is 12AM local time. Those in Japan will have to wait a little bit longer than that though. Bethesda won’t release Fallout 4 in Japan until December 17th.

PC, Xbox One and PS4 share the same Fallout 4 release date. There is no Fallout 4 release planned for Xbox 360, PS3 or Mac. At least not yet.

Fallout 4 Release Time

The Fallout 4 release date in the U.S. is November 10th but some of you will be able to play the game starting today, November 9th.

If you bought a digital copy of Fallout 4 for PS4, Xbox One or PC, you can pre-load the game right now and start playing right when the calendar switches over to November 10th. Fallout 4 will become available at 12:01 AM Eastern. This means that the Fallout 4 release date in other time zones is actually November 9th.

Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition Release Date

The Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition shares a release date with the regular version of Fallout 4 but there are a few differences.

There is no way to pre-load the game if you ordered the Pip Boy Edition and the Pip Boy Edition alone. The collectors edition comes with a physical copy of the game, not a digital one, which means you’ll have to wait until November 10th to play.

If you selected in-store pickup when you ordered your Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition, you should be able to pick it up at your store during tonight’s midnight Fallout 4 release date. You might want to stop in early or call ahead to make sure.

If you didn’t select in-store pickup, your Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition will arrive on November 10th. We ordered our copy from Amazon and it hasn’t shipped out as of 10:51AM Pacific.

Fallout 4 Day One Patches

As is the case with most games, there is a Fallout 4 day one patch that gamers will need to download before the game loads up.

Fallout 4’s day one patch on Xbox One and PS4 is rather small and it requires just 500MB of space to install on the console.

The patch will bring bug fixes to a game that will need several more patches down the road. Those already playing the game have run into an assortment of problems.

If you order the digital version of Fallout 4, you can pre-load it on your Xbox One, PS4 or PC ahead of its release date. If you pre-load, you can play right when the clock strikes midnight at 12:01AM Eastern. You won't be able to play before then. If you ordered the physical version of the game, you'll need to install it with the disc that comes inside. If you ordered the physical version of Fallout 4 for PC, you'll need to use the disc and Steam to activate and install the game. There is no pre-load for the physical version of Fallout 4.  There's also a day one patch that you'll need to download. This patch will fix some of the initial problems Bethesda's engineers discovered during testing. So what're we getting at? If you plan to pre-load or if you plan to install right after you get the game in your hands, you'll want to set aside some time on November 9th or November 10th (or whenever you install) to ensure that the download and installation process goes smoothly.  You might need to delete files, transfer a game to an external hard drive, or maybe even deal with a problem. This on top of the time it will take to download and install the game on your Xbox One, PC or PlayStation 4.  Aside an hour or so of quiet time so that you can attend to all of this without any distractions.
