First Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date Confirmed

on

The first U.S. Samsung Galaxy S6 release date has been confirmed today and it lines up with everything we’ve seen and heard about the highly anticipated Galaxy S6 release date.

While the exact Samsung Galaxy S6 release date in the United States is still a mystery, we’ve finally seen a U.S. carrier outline the window in which its Galaxy S6 release date will fall into. This is the first confirmed U.S. Galaxy S6 release window and it helps to set consumer expectations ahead of the Galaxy S6 launch on Sunday.

Over the weekend, T-Mobile confirmed a Galaxy S6 release in a teaser. The carrier quickly posted a sign up page for a curved phone that fits the profile of the rumored Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors suggest that Samsung will release two versions of the Galaxy S6, one regular and one curved variant that’s similar to the Galaxy Note Edge.

Not to be outdone, AT&T’s posted a Galaxy S6 sign up page of its own, confirming the AT&T Galaxy S6 release. Ma Bell’s offered an extra bit of information though.

On its sign up page, AT&T’s confirmed a Galaxy S6 release date for “Spring 2015.” While the window is extremely vague, the information matches current Galaxy S6 release date rumors. Current Galaxy S6 release date rumors point to a release a few weeks ahead of Samsung’s usual Galaxy S release window. The company’s last two Galaxy S models were released in April.

Galaxy S6 release date rumors also point to a possible release somewhere between March 22nd and March 30th and April 19th to April 27th. Those dates refer to blackout dates for Samsung employees. Companies often use blackout dates to ensure that they’re at full strength during major product launches. The Galaxy S6 is clearly a major product launch.

The first day of Spring is March 20th which means that we’re probably not going to see the Galaxy S6 release take place on AT&T before that date. AT&T’s website offers a sign up for those interested in the Galaxy S6’s arrival though the carrier probably won’t send out concrete information until after the Galaxy S6’s launch date on March 1st.

The arrival of the T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and AT&T Galaxy S6 comes a week before the official Galaxy S6 launch and on the heels of a report that suggest that telecoms, including American carriers, are excited about the Samsung Galaxy S6 and its design.

Korean publication The Korea Herald says that key “executives of global mobile carriers gave kudos to Samsung Electronics’ upcoming Galaxy S6 and its variant Edge smartphones, wagering they could beat Apple’s hot-selling iPhone 6 at least in terms of design.” The report notes that “executives from telecom companies including T-Mobile, Sprint, Vodafone and Korea’s SK Telecom were said to have been greatly satisfied with the styling of the new phones.”

The Samsung Galaxy S6 release date is expected to land for all five top carriers inside the United States including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon. We haven’t seen any of these models pass through the FCC, a necessary step before a smartphone can hit shelves, though with a few weeks to go before the start of Spring, we should start seeing movement after the Galaxy S6 launch date.

Carriers aren’t the only ones teasing the Galaxy S6 release. We discovered a placeholder for the Samsung Galaxy S6 inside of a Best Buy location, another sign that the Galaxy S6 release in the U.S., and perhaps in general, could come a little bit faster than years past. We’ve also seen international retailers, carriers, and even Samsung itself start teasing the Galaxy S6’s arrival ahead of its launch date.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is widely expected to feature a number of big time upgrades including a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, a new design that features premium materials, a swipe-based fingerprint sensor, tons of internal storage, an upgraded camera, an improved front-facing camera, a new Exynos 7 octo-core processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop with a toned down version of TouchWiz, and more.

Please stop using deceiving titles to gain views. Clearly it works, but it’s just in bad taste.
