Galaxy Note 10 vs Galaxy Note 9: Which One to Buy?

Buyers have plenty of great Android phones to choose from right now, like the OnePlus 7 Pro, Galaxy Note 9, or the newly announced Galaxy Note 10. Which, by the way, now comes in two screen sizes. If you’re debating getting the OnePlus 7 Pro, keeping your Note 9, or getting something new here’s what you need to know.

This year smartphone buyers and Note fans have an even more difficult decision to make. Mainly because they’re two different sizes, yet great phones. One is bigger than the older Note 9, while the other one is a little smaller. Here’s what you need to know about both and our official Galaxy Note 9 vs Galaxy Note 10 comparison.

While the Galaxy Note 9 from last year is still an excellent phone and very capable, we recommend looking at all of your options as the year comes to a close. Honestly, if you already have the Note 9 keep it, but if you’re using an older phone and debating one or the other, the information in our slideshow below will be very beneficial.

The biggest thing are the two different screen sizes. One is slightly smaller than the Note 9, while one is substantially bigger. That said, the 6.3-inch Galaxy Note 10 has tiny bezels, making it way smaller and easier to hold than the Note 9, even though the screen is nearly the same size. Then, Samsung delivered storage upgrades, camera improvements, longer battery life and faster charging speeds. Basically, the Note 10 is one of the best phones of 2019. You now have your pick between multiple screen sizes and price points, which is really important.

Galaxy Note 10 vs Galaxy Note 9: Design

The first thing we want to talk about is the design. Mainly because a lot will change between the Note 9 and Note 10. Just like we saw with the Galaxy S10, Samsung made major changes to the overall style, design, and lack of bezels around the phone. The screen is so big they had to cut a spot out for the front camera.   Samsung is sticking to its popular big screen with curved edges. Keep in mind though that the Note 10 is a hair bigger or smaller, depending on what size you buy. Then, on the back you'll notice 3-4 cameras, off to the left side, instead of in the center.  Furthermore, the new Galaxy Note 10 doesn't have a fingerprint scanner on the back either. Instead, Samsung went with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Yes, the fingerprint scanner is inside the screen and can read the ridges of your finger through the glass. A feature Galaxy S10 owners love.  Basically, the lack of bezels at the top and the bottom, more cameras, a bigger screen and no rear fingerprint scanner is what makes the design different. Otherwise, it's still mostly Samsung's usual all metal and glass phone.  It'll still look unquestionably like a Samsung Galaxy Note device, with the slide-out S-Pen stylus and all. However, there are a few big things to mention, which is that Samsung ditched the Bixby button, removed the 3.5mm headphone jack, and one Note 10 model doesn't even have a microSD slot.
