The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is set to arrive with a giant screen that will dwarf the screen sizes of some of the best smartphones of 2013.

Thanks to a collection of solid rumors we believe the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will come with a 5.68-inch display that Samsung will market as a 5.7-inch display. This new display is bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and should come with a 1920 x 1080 resolution that is common on most high-end phones available today.

With a solid Galaxy Note 3 display leak we are able to match up the likely size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 compared to the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S4, HTC one and iPhone 5.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 event is on the calendar for September 4th, where we expect to see Samsung show off the final design and Galaxy Note 3 features.

We are also hearing that Samsung will fast track the Note 3 release date, to as early as September 27th in some territories. While you wait for the Galaxy Note 3 to arrive in the U.S., here’s what the Galaxy note 3 should look like next to the best smartphones of 2013.

Galaxy Note 3 Size Comparison

The image below shows the Galaxy Note 3 size versus the top phones of 2013. Even with a bigger display the overall size of the Galaxy Note 3 doesn’t appear to grow much, which is good news for users that want a better screen but don’t want to carry a giant device.

Galaxy Note 3 vs. Galaxy Note 2 Size

We shared the original Galaxy Note 3 vs. Galaxy Note 2 size comparison yesterday which was nabbed and reposted on an Japenese blog before exploding across the web. After going back closer we’ve resized the image a little to account for screen sizes and it looks like the Galaxy Note 3 will be slightly taller than the Galaxy Note 2.

The Galaxy Note 2 features a 5.5-inch 720P display while the Galaxy Note 3 should arrive with a 5.7-inch 1080P HD display.

Galaxy Note 3 vs. Galaxy S4 Size

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will use the thin bezels which were an integral part of the Galaxy S4 to keep the Note 3 about as wide as the Note 2. When compared to the Galaxy S4, the Note 3 is larger thanks to the .7-inch larger screen.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 5-inch 1080P HD display and the Galaxy Note 3 should come with a 5.7-inch 1080P HD display.

Galaxy Note 3 vs. iPhone 5 & iPhone 5S Size

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be dramatically bigger than the iPhone 5 and based on rumors the iPhone 5S as well. This is to be expected considering a nearly 2-inch bigger screen and based on the leaks it looks like the iPhone 5 might fit inside the bounds of the Galaxy Note 3 display.

The iPhone 5 features a 4-inch Retina Display with an 1136 x 640. This is the same screen size and resolution we expect on the iPhone 5. The Galaxy Note 3 is 1.7-inches larger with a 5.7-inch display and a 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Galaxy Note 3 vs. HTC One

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is going to be an inch bigger than the HTC One, it is still going to face a challenge from the aluminum unibody smartphone. We could also see an increased battle with the rumored HTC One Max which could feature a 5.9-inch display.

The HTC One comes with a 4.7-inch 1080P Hd display while the Galaxy Note 3 will likely add an inch to jump to a 5.7-inch 1080P HD display.

completely agree. Unless Apple pulls a fast one and comes out with the 5s with a 5″ screen at least I am leaving apple and IOS in the dust. Iphone was great and was the best phone for a long while but it is just getting passed left and right now from the competition and I dont want to wait another year for them to maybe catch up.

The form factor of the Note 3 is likely to be identical to Note 2. The reasoning is a negligible difference in diagonal size from 5.55″ to 5.68″, that’s just 0.13″, mathematically increasing the screen just .031 by .043 would just about do it. That is hundredths of an inch in length and width which could easily be adjusted within the bezel. It means the same engineering of the infamous plastic framework does not have to change and neither does the protectors that are already on the shelves.

I have the original Note and the Note 10.1 I can’t wait to upgrade but whether it will be a Note 2 or Note 3 will depend on the one thing that makes this family of devices unique, the S-pen. Yet, there have been no leaks of new capabilities or apps for it. September 4th is so far away, argh. Have you heard anything about new features for the S-Note?

Oh Apple. When will you ever catch up with everyone else? never, I assume. Android will always be 10 steps ahead.

Eagerly waiting for Note 3. I have Note 2 and am extremely happy with it. I was an iPhone user till 4S and then got forced to move to Galaxy S2 as I lost the 4S. But I would never look back. I still love both and on a given day won’t mind using either without any reservation or favoritism towards one over the other. But, Note just makes sense in many ways – great battery, awesome screen size, S-pen, replaceable batter, Micro USB storage…… Great job Samsung! you guys created a new mobile device category..

Have to say I will be disappointed if the 5S is no bigger. My vision is getting worse and my fingers apparently fatter so anything larger for my next upgrade looks appealling. iOS 7 doesn’t appear to ameliorate these issues.

I have a Note 2 and cannot wait to upgrade to Note 3. I was an early adopter on Iphone and now keep it as a back-up, but now it feels almost obsolete. It your are accustomed to a big screen you will never go back to iphone. It feels light and smooth to hold and i prefer it to iphones so called premium materials.

Looking forward to the upgraded storage space, 32gigs should round out to about 24gigs, but it is better than the 11gigs you really get with the Note 2. I phones are simple devices that just work, I hear that all the time. Simple phones for simple minded people.

If you are interested the Note 3 also works with the Note 2 smart dock:
