Galaxy Note 4 Deal Arrives Ahead of Release Date

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date and price for the U.S. is finally confirmed and U.S. carriers are taking pre-orders for the brand new smartphone starting today. The same day Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are arriving to buyers, and available in stores.

While the Galaxy Note 4 release date isn’t for nearly another month, with the official date set for October 17th, Samsung is wasting no time getting buyers on board, and this week announced a new Galaxy Note 4 deal ahead of the release date. This is likely an attempt to get more buyers on board, rather than jumping ship to the new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.

At Samsung Unpacked 2014 in Berlin, Germany, Samsung took the stage and announced a slew of brand new products including two new Galaxy Note models dubbed Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and of course the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The new Note 4 release date has been confirmed for October, and the curved Edge will be detailed at a later date.

For those looking to pass on the new iPhone 6 Plus and that 5.5-inch display for Samsung’s bigger 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 4, we have a deal worth checking out. Starting today buyers can pre-order the new phone from multiple manufacturers in the United States, but Samsung themselves have launched a pretty lucrative trade-in program.

Similar to other trade-in offers we’ve seen for years, Samsung is offering a $200 guarantee for a “working smartphone” when you pre-order the new Note 4.

Simply ore-order the Galaxy Note 4 from any US carrier starting today, September 19th, until October 16th, and trade in any working smartphone, and you’ll be eligible for a trade-in value up to $200. The wording makes it sound like you’ll get $200 for ANY smartphone, but there has to be a catch. See all the detail for yourself below.

The fine print says, “get a guaranteed total trade in of $200 on any working smartphone” to be exact. Which is followed by “Eligible participants will receive a check equal to the difference between $200 and the trade-in amount, with a $10 minimum.”

This essentially works just like a mail-in-rebate of sorts. Users will be required to pre-order the new Galaxy Note 4 before the October 17th release date, trade-in the working smartphone, show proof of purchase and trade-in details. Then come October 10th you’ll be able to submit your information to receive the $200 guaranteed trade in cash for your working smartphone.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 is $199 with a new 2-year contract from US carriers, meaning that if users are able to get this guaranteed $200 trade-in value, the purchase could potentially be free, along with a new 2-year contract. Covering the entire cost of the device on-contract, making this a pretty enticing deal.

As a reminder, the Galaxy Note 4 offers a beautiful 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD display, a powerful 2.7 GHz quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a micro-SD slot for storage expansion (rather than paying $399 for a 128GB iPhone 6) and a large 3,300 mAh battery.
