The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date and price for the U.S. is finally confirmed and U.S. carriers will start taking pre-orders for the new flagship ahead of the Galaxy Note 4 release date that is just weeks away for consumers.

At its Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 event ahead of IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany, Samsung took the stage and announced a slew of brand new products including two new Galaxy Note models dubbed Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The Galaxy Note Edge, Samsung’s new curved Galaxy Note, will be out later this year while the Galaxy Note 4 release date was and is confirmed for October.

Samsung did not go into detail about the specific Galaxy Note 4 release date, Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders or Galaxy Note 4 price leaving those announcements for a later date. Earlier this week, we saw the final U.S. bound Galaxy Note 4 pass through the FCC on its way to shelves , a sign that announcements were probably close. And today, Samsung and its carrier partners made good on our suspicions.

Today, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date in the United States was finally confirmed for October 17th. That date comes from Samsung itself and it comes from several of its carrier partners including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint U.S. Cellular and Verizon. Those five have confirmed the Galaxy Note 4 release date for October 17th and two of the four will begin taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 4 starting tomorrow.

The Galaxy Note 4 price is also confirmed and it will cost the usual $299.99 on-contract. That’s $100 more than the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 base model and the same price as the 16GB version of the iPhone 6 Plus, the 5.5-inch iPhone that will challenge the Galaxy Note 4 during the fall and during the upcoming holiday shopping season.

AT&T says that it will start shipping Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders on October 14th, an incentive for those that have already decided on the Galaxy Note 4 as their next smartphone, and it says that it will offer it at $299.99 on-contract, $34.42 with an AT&T Next 18 plan, or $41.30 per month with an AT&T Next 12 plan. Off-contract, the Galaxy Note 4 is going to cost a whopping $825.99.

Verizon will start Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders tonight at 12:01AM and it will be charging $299.99 for the Galaxy Note 4 on-contract. The carrier says that it will offer the Galaxy Note 4 with Edge but it still has not confirmed pricing for its popular plan.

T-Mobile has also confirmed the Galaxy Note 4 release date and it will be taking pre-orders on September 24th, a little later than the other two carriers. The UnCarrier says that the Galaxy Note 4 will cost $0 up-front, and then $31.24 each month, for 24 months going forward. The late pre-order date will not effect its release date and T-Mobile will release the Galaxy Note 4 at the same time as the other two.

Finally, Sprint will charge $299.99 on-contract as well. The carrier tells us that it plans to take pre-orders starting September 26th ahead of an October 17th release date.

U.S. Cellular says that it also plans to release the Galaxy Note 4 on October 17th though it remains mum about a pre-order or a price. Typically, U.S. release dates and prices cluster around one another so we expect U.S. Cellular’s Galaxy Note 4 price to be in and around the same $299.99 price tag that we’ve seen from other carriers.

Samsung Experience Shops in Best Buy, as well as Amazon, Costco, RadioShack, Sam’s Club, Target, and Walmart will all carry the Galaxy Note 4 down the road though Samsung is leaving release date and pricing up to individual carriers and retailers. We probably won’t see too much fluctuation but availability and pricing could vary.

It’s not clear when the Galaxy Note 4 release date will land for other countries though we’ve heard that we could see the Galaxy Note 4 hit Korea and China on September 26th and the UK the week of September 13th.

October 17th too late for me! Samsung dragging their heels on the release date pushed me to forget about it and look for something else. I actually pre ordered the note 4 and then looked at the calendar and thought nah I’m not going to wait almost another month for a new phone so i just cancelled my pre order and will move on.
If Samsung would have been smart they would have released the note 4 right after or at least a few days after announcement like most other manufacturers do. When you announce a new product and people are hungry for a new device, thats the time to make the most out of sales but when you drag the release out and give the hungry buyers time to cool down suddenly they start to make more logical decisions and buy something else that is already available that will still meet their needs!
    Snooze you loose!
