A new leak from DDAY.it shows the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in photos, revealing a design that looks a lot like the Galaxy Note 2 enlarged to fit the bigger screen.

The 8-inch tablet has the same features of the recent Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3, including the familiar button layout below the screen with a physical home button and capacitive menu and back buttons. The design looks so much like a gigantic phone that it has a speaker above the screen that looks like the speaker and sensor layout in recent Samsung phones.

Also above the display is a small camera, which is likely a 1.3MP camera mostly for video chat use. On the back there’s likely a 5MP camera with no flash.

Galaxy Note 8.0 leak

The display of the leaked Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has a 16:10 display, which seems to confirm the leaked 1280×800 resolution rumor. The display is the same resolution as the one in the Nexus 7, but the Note 8.0 will have more screen real estate because it uses physical buttons instead of on-screen virtual buttons.

Other rumored specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 include a quad-core 1.6GHz processor which is faster than the quad-core 1.3GHz processor in the Nexus 7. The Note 8 will likely run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which would make it the first Samsung device to run the latest version of Android.

Galaxy Note 8.0 leak 2

Like every other Note device from Samsung, the Galaxy Note 8.0 will use an S Pen stylus for taking notes, sketching and general interactions with the tablet. Samsung will likely include its S Note, S Memo and S Planner apps to go along with the stylus. The tablet will also likely have the ability to run two apps side by side on the same screen like other recent Samsung devices.

Samsung will announce the new Galaxy Note 8.0 at Mobile World Congress next month. The company could decide to sell the tablet as soon as March.
