Galaxy Note Edge Release Date (U.S.) “Coming Soon”

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date in the U.S. is coming soon according to a Samsung sign up page that offers consumers a chance to sign up for more information and provides some more detail about the upcoming Galaxy Note Edge release date in the United States.

In early September, Samsung took the stage at Unpacked 2014 and introduced several new products including an Apple Watch competitor called Gear S, an iPhone 6 Plus competitor called Galaxy Note 4, and a brand new flagship product called the Galaxy Note Edge. The Galaxy Note Edge is the company’s new high-end version of the Galaxy Note that comes with a screen unlike anything Samsung has ever put on a Galaxy smartphone.

Samsung confirmed all of the Galaxy Note Edge specs but it failed to confirmed many of the device’s other key features including the Galaxy Note Edge price and the Galaxy Note Edge release date. Both of those details remain a mystery even though the Galaxy Note Edge release date is confirmed for sometime later on this year.

A Samsung Galaxy Note Edge sign up page for the United States though claims that the Galaxy Note Edge is “coming soon” to the U.S. and it also reveals some details that will be of interest for those that are thinking about buying Samsung’s Next Big Thing.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge sign up page teases the new device and it provides a way for consumers to sign up for official information regarding the Galaxy Note Edge release date in the United States. The site also provides some other key pieces of information regarding the Galaxy Note Edge release date in the United States.

First, a drop down menu lists five carriers instead of four. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon are all listed in the drop down box. Of these, U.S. Cellular is the only one that has yet to announce the Galaxy Note Edge for arrival. Consumers shouldn’t get too excited though because this is not a confirmation. Carriers listed in these drop boxes have been inaccurate in the past. U.S. Cellular did announce the Galaxy Note 4 and will be releasing it alongside major carriers in a few weeks.

Second, the page notes that the Galaxy Note Edge has yet to pass through the FCC, a necessary clearance for a smartphone like the Galaxy Note Edge. We have yet to see any Galaxy Note Edge models pass through the FCC which means that a release in the United States probably isn’t imminent. The Galaxy Note 4 took several weeks to clear the FCC ahead of its October 17th release date in the U.S.

Third, and this is the first time we’re seeing this, the Galaxy Note Edge will apparently be sold in several retail locations. Best Buy, Target, Sam’s Club, RadioShack, Amazon, Walmart, and Costco will evidently be stocking this high-end Galaxy Note Edge when it arrives. While this sign up page provides all of this information, it doesn’t provide the Galaxy Note Edge release date, a date that remains missing in action for consumers in the U.S. and around the world.

Yesterday, Samsung unexpectedly revealed some new Galaxy Note Edge release date information. It appears that Samsung is planning a Canadian Galaxy Note Edge release date in 2015 though the company did not outline specific details. It did, however, mention that the country would be behind the U.S. Galaxy Note Edge release date. What this means for the U.S. is unclear.

Samsung’s new smartphone is one of the year’s most interesting smartphones as it combines a bent display with a number of high-end features. Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge specs include a Quad HD resolution, a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz, 16 Megapixel Rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization, massive battery, and a thin 8.3mm frame.

It’s expect to be priced higher than the Galaxy Note 4 which will arrive in the United States for $299.99 on-contract on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless.

Samsung has been comparing the edge to apple, all so telling the US consumer that two models of the note 4 were being released together. This stinks. I am keeping my note 3. To hell with the 4. The note 3 is still better than apple with the s pen alone. Samsung is getting very stupid. They should have beaten apple on release. They would sell many more phones. People want hands on for compare. Once apple is out Samsung gets sloppy seconds to the people that did not buy apple already, they do this each time. I’ll water for the note 5. To hell with the edge. By the time it is released the note 5 will be due. Why didn’t Samsung give both note 4’s to the fcc at the same time. Then they would have been released together.
