Galaxy S10 vs Galaxy S9: Specs

The Galaxy S10 is one fast and powerful smartphone, and it'll easily top the S9 across the board. That's expected, of course, and you'll have to decide if these changes warrant an upgrade, or are enough for you to wait for -- and pay a premium -- for the Galaxy S10.

Galaxy S10 Specs

  • 6.1-inch 3040 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Curved Display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Samsung Exynos Processor
  • 128 or 512GB of internal storage (MicroSD slot included)
  • 8GB of RAM (Compared to only 4GB on S9)
  • Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI
  • Triple Rear Cameras: 12, 12, 16MP (Regular variable aperture, telephoto, and super wide-angle) Main 12MP Dual Pixel will still have OIS, 960 FPS slo-mo, and more
  • 10MP front-facing camera inside the screen (top right corner) (Dual on S10+)
  • In-Display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the glass near the bottom
  • IP68 dust & water resistance (5ft for 30 minutes)
  • 3,400 mAh battery with Fast & Wireless Charging (and reverse wireless charging)
  • Always-On Display, 3D Emoji (like animoji)
  • Samsung Pay, Bixby 2.0 Assistant, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, more

Galaxy S9 Specs

  • 5.8-inch 2960 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Curved Display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or Samsung Exynos Processor
  • 64GB of internal storage (Micro-SD slot included) and 4GB RAM
  • Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UI (or Android 9 Pie and One UI)
  • 12 Dualpixel Rear Camera - OIS, phase detection auto-focus, variable f/1.5-2.4 aperture camera, 960 FPS slow-motion, more
  • 8 megapixel front camera with autofocus, f/1.7 aperture
  • Rear-Mounted Fingerprint Scanner & Face Unlock (Using Iris and Face-unlock technology combined)
  • IP68 dust & water resistance (5ft for 30 minutes)
  • 3,000 mAh battery with Fast & Wireless Charging
  • Always-On Display, 3D Emoji (like animoji)
  • Samsung Pay, Bixby Virtual Assistant, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, more

As you can see, these are two good handsets, but the Galaxy S10 has some notable upgrades. What sticks out is the bigger 6.1-inch screen, the massive 3,400 mAh battery (bigger than the Note 8 battery, actually) double the RAM for improved performance and double the storage to 128GB, not to mention the in-display fingerprint scanner.

These phones might look similar at first glance, but everything is new and improved. Whether that's the triple rear camera array, or everything going on inside or under the screen. Basically, you'll want the Galaxy S10.
