Last but not least is the price. Choosing to buy a smartphone with a huge screen, great specs, one of the best cameras, and a unique novelty feature like a curved screen comes with a high price tag. The Galaxy S6 Edge costs more than the regular Galaxy S6, and the new Edge Plus costs more than the Galaxy Note 5.

Here's the pricing of the Galaxy S6 Edge vs the Galaxy Note 5 vs the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. We chose AT&T, and other carriers pricing may differ. In the end, the Edge is about $75 more than the Galaxy Note 5, and much more than the smaller Galaxy S6 Edge.

  • Galaxy S6 Edge 32GB - $719 ($229 on contract)
  • Galaxy Note 5 32GB - $739 ($249 on contract)
  • Galaxy S6 Edge Plus 32GB -$815 outright ($299 on contract)

As you can see the bigger Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is just under $100 more than the original, and $75 more than the Galaxy Note 5 with the same specs and arguably more features with the S-Pen stylus. Buyers will be paying simply for the curved screen, and that's it.

Everyone has different wants, needs, preferences or budget, so choose what's best for you. Is the curve that you may or may not use worth it? Or is the Galaxy Note 5 for less the perfect phone for you. Tough choice, I know.

Warning! The S6 Edge PLUS Dies Not have an IR BLASTER – do, if you use your phone as a remote, you can’t use the Plus! This is verified with Samsung – no comment as yo why they put one in the Edge, but not in the Edge Plus!

Theres literally nothing different between these 2 phones except for the size difference. Everything else is the same. There a couple of small differences which are pointed out in this article https://goo.gl/e3nBEL

Yeah the edge plus doesn’t have the ir blaster but it has the adaptive fast charging. I guess t just depends which one u need more. I do wish I knew this before getting my edge plus though.

    HI,

Thanks for this compare and contrast page this was very helpful and Im saving to get the 64gb edge plus I wish there was a 128gb as prevents us having to delete messages and data of what we send via social media.

Hello, not having ir blaster had made me not go for it anymore. I will get my edge or note 5 soon.

Even though IR is not needed for basic functionality I feel that it was one of those little extras that set my S5 apart from many other phones that were not IR capable. Seeing as how the micro SD and removable battery were also left behind this time around I feel taking away little bonus specs is just an added “hit” to those of us who already feel we are sacrificing the battery/storage. Unsure if I will continue being a Samsung customer or not…..at least until they come up with something that is more of a total package in my opinion.

The S6e does have the edge apps on double stipendiat and had from day 1. Jibberish when stating the plus have different cpu. At that point i didn’t bother reading the remaining parts of the comparison.
