Several new Samsung Galaxy S6 release details have emerged for the United States just days after the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge hit shelves for a number of major U.S. carriers.

In early March, Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, two new flagships that replace the Galaxy S5 and join the company’s Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge on shelves. The two devices feature powerful specifications and they have quickly become two of the most sought after Android devices on the planet.

On Friday, after a bit of a wait, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge arrived for select carriers in the United States. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S .Cellular, Verizon, and Boost Mobile all released the Galaxy S6 and AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon all released the curved Galaxy S6 Edge. While April 10th represented the first big Galaxy S6 release date, the US Galaxy S6 release isn’t finished yet.

Today, a number of new Galaxy S6 release details have emerged for US buyers including a brand new Galaxy S6 release date and some new Galaxy S6 price options. These new details come courtesy of Cricket, a pre-paid carrier that’s owned by AT&T.

The Cricket Galaxy S6 release date is confirmed for April 24th, or, a few days before at least one major U.S. carrier is expected to start shipping missing gold Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge variants. The carrier says that the regular Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in physical retail locations and through its website. It appears that the carrier, like Boost Mobile, will only stock one version of the Galaxy S6, likely the 32GB model. It will not carry the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Cricket’s confirmed a number of Galaxy S6 price detail as well. Off-contract, the Galaxy S6 will cost $650. That falls in line with pricing that we’ve seen through major US carriers.

The carrier also outlines several other ways to buy the phone including several of its new Phone Payment Plans. The carrier says that users will be able to snag the Galaxy S6 with an initial $19.99 payment, approved credit, and a smartphone plan. It also says that “customers can take advantage of Cricket’s 90 days same-as-cash payment option after a $49.99 initial payment, and no credit check.”

Samsung nails it with the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung knocks it out of the park with the Galaxy S6 Edge.

In addition, the carrier also outlines a Galaxy S6 deal that new customers can take advantage of. Those coming from who switch from carriers like T-Mobile, Metro-PCS, Sprint, and Boost to Cricket’s $50 per month plan or $60/month plan will get one month free service. The carrier’s offer ends on April 30th, just a few days after its Galaxy S6 release date.

Cricket’s Galaxy S6 release announcements mean that there is only one US carrier left without an official Galaxy S6 release date. The MetroPCS Galaxy S6 release date remains missing in action and we haven’t seen any details, or rumors, emerge in the weeks since the carrier first announced that it would stock the regular version of the Galaxy S6.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 on Cricket and other U.S. carriers comes with a number of big time features including a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, Exynos 7 octa-core processor, 16MP camera sensor with Optical Image Stabilization, a new version of TouchWiz over Android 5.0 Lollipop, an improved fingerprint sensor, and a new design language that’s punctuated by glass and metal.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge offers similar features though it comes with a curved display that’s bent over two sides of the phone. Samsung’s higher-end Galaxy S6 Edge will be limited to major carriers in the United States with Boost, Cricket and MetroPCS not expected to stock it at any point down the road.
