So that's the bad news. To recap, Samsung probably won't release an official version of Android Pie for the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, or Galaxy S7 Active. And if it does, the release will likely take months and will probably be missing some key features. So how about some good news?

The good news is that you don't need Samsung to roll out Android Pie to get Android Pie on board a Galaxy S7.

The Galaxy S7 development community is still extremely active and we've seen a ton of Android Pie-based ROMs emerge giving users a chance to try Android Pie and some of the features from Samsung's One UI.

Remember, Samsung's Android Pie roll out is relatively new so we fully expect developers to improve the quality of these ROMs over the course of 2019. (Many of them are plagued with bugs and missing features.)

That said, if you want to give Android Pie a go right now you can.
