If you use the Edge Panel on your Galaxy S8, you should be excited about the changes coming with the official version of Android 8.0 Oreo. 

Among the standouts from the Galaxy S8 Oreo beta are the changes Samsung's made to the device's curved edges. 

Samsung's Galaxy S8 Oreo update should (and we use the word should because it could hold back features from the beta) bring improved font size and color for better Edge panel visibility. 

With the Oreo update installed you can select from three new lighting effects to use when notifications appear on your device. These include a multi-color effect, a glow effect that makes the edges glow, and a glitter effect with several different colors. 

It also delivers color customization options for your apps. You can also now touch and hold the Edge panel to change its position on the screen.
