Galaxy S8 vs Galaxy S6: Display

Galaxy S8 vs Galaxy S6: Display

The most important aspect of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus for many will likely be the display. Samsung has made some incredible moves to offer the best experience to date. The size of each phones screens will be significantly bigger, but the physical size of the phone won't be. Meaning Galaxy S6 owners will simply enjoy a better experience without buying a huge device like the Galaxy Note 7.

From everything we've seen and heard so far this year the Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch Quad-HD display. Then a bigger Galaxy S8+ is coming with a 6.2-inch screen. Both will be bigger than the Galaxy S6 Edge+ from 2015.

By moving the dedicated home button and fingerprint scanner to the back for the first time in seven years, and making the bezels extremely small around the device, we get these big screens. Leaks show the phones are almost identical in size to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but with huge screens. Essentially they'll be the same size as the Galaxy S6.

Coming in with a new Quad-HD AMOLED display that's thinner, more efficient, offers HDR content, and the best colors of any Samsung phone yet. Samsung is reportedly using a new 18:9 aspect ratio so they'll be a little longer than before, but not too wide so they'll be easy to hold and use still. The image above is a leaked photo made from all the evidence we have so far. See how big the screen is?

Just know the screen will be bigger and better all without making the phone physically huge. Something everyone can appreciate. Also, both the S8 and S8+ will have curved edges. There will not be a flat model this year. The Edge features can be disabled, and it doesn't get in the way or cause accidental touches. Owners will quickly get used to it and love all the Galaxy S8 has to offer.
