Wait If You Want Top Notch Performance

If speed and battery life are extremely important to you, and you don't want the Galaxy Note 8, consider holding out for the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+.

Nothing is confirmed, but all signs point to some serious internal upgrades inside Samsung's 2018 Galaxy flagships.

As of right now, the Galaxy S9 is expected to feature Qualcomm's 8-Core Snapdragon 845 Processor with 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy S9+ is rumored to have a whopping 6GB of RAM.

Qualcomm's chip promises 30% improvements to performance, realistic “all-day battery life” and improvements to photography, VR, and AI. It should also provide you with high-performance mobile gaming, if you're into that sort of thing.

The first known public Galaxy S9 benchmarks are extremely impressive. An Exynos 9810-powered Galaxy S9 with model number SM-G960F recently appeared on Geekbench. Single-core scored a 3648 and multi-core scored a 8894. The Exynos-powered Note posted 1960 and 6473 scores.

The two devices are expected to feature larger batteries (3,200 mAh on the Galaxy S9 and 3,700 mAh on the Galaxy S9+) with fast wireless charging. Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with 3,000 and 3,500 mAh batteries, respectively.

If you want a ton of horsepower from your next smartphone, think about waiting for this year's Galaxy S models.
