Don't Wait If You Aren't Prepared to Spend

If you aren't prepared to spend a lot on your next phone, you might not want to wait around for the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+.

In 2017, Samsung released its most expensive smartphone ever at $949. That phone? The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ might not be priced that high, but we could see them coming close, especially if Samsung loads them both up with high-end hardware features as expected.

A recent report out of Korea claims the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be more expensive than the Galaxy S8 in South Korea.

Samsung sold its 64GB Galaxy S8 for 935,000 won ($875) in South Korea and the Galaxy S9 will reportedly cost between 950,000 won and 990,000 won ($890-$930).

We'll see some trade-in deals at launch, but you'll want to wait several weeks for actual Galaxy S9 price cuts to emerge.

If you can't wait that long, or simply can't stomach paying close to $1000 for a new phone, you're better off looking at budget alternatives. Fortunately, there are plenty of those out there.
