Galaxy S9+ vs Galaxy S8+: Specs

Next, we want to go over some of the specs and features here. Mainly because this is one more area where the Galaxy S9+ differs greatly from the Galaxy S8+ and even the smaller S9. Samsung added more than just dual cameras and a bigger screen this year. There are a few other changes that make the S9+ the best.

Galaxy S8+ Specs

  • 6.2-inch 2960 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Curved Display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos Processor
  • 64GB of internal storage (Micro-SD slot included) and 4GB RAM
  • Android 7.0 Nougat with Samsung TouchWiz
  • 12 Dualpixel Rear Camera - OIS, phase detection auto-focus, f/1.7 aperture
  • 8 megapixel front camera with auto-focus, f/1.7 aperture

  • Always-On Display
  • Samsung Pay, Bixby Virtual Assistant, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, more

As you can see, the S8+ is still an excellent phone. One that anyone will absolutely enjoy. If you're on a budget, find a good deal, and get the S8+. There's no reason not to buy one and love it unless of course, you get the Galaxy S9+.

Galaxy S9+ Specs

  • 6.2-inch 2960 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Curved Display (less curved for improved durability)
  • Faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor
  • 64GB of internal storage (Micro-SD slot included) and 6GB of RAM (up from 4GB)
  • Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UI
  • Dual 12 Megapixel Rear Cameras - OIS, phase detection auto-focus, variable f/1.5-2.4 aperture camera, 1000 FPS, slo-mo, more
  • 8-megapixel front camera with autofocus, f/1.7 aperture
  • Fingerprint Scanner, Face & Iris Intelligent Scanner
  • IP68 dust & water resistance up to 5ft for 30 minutes
  • 3,500 mAh battery with Fast & Wireless Charging
  • Always-On Display
  • Dual Stereo Speakers that are 1.4x louder than S8
  • Samsung Pay, Bixby Virtual Assistant, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, more

So yes, these phones look similar on the outside, but they're vastly different. You'll get two new cameras, longer battery life, more RAM for improved performance or multitasking and gaming, and more.

We're also hearing the new Galaxy S9+ has glass that's twice as thick for added durability and new 7000 series aluminum. Basically, it'll feel more durable and premium, on top of being a better phone than the S8+.

Additionally, the new Snapdragon 845 processor should improve performance, battery life, gaming, camera features, VR, and other things. Bundle that with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo and everything else, and you can see why the Galaxy S9+ is the best phone of 2018. Well, until the Note 9 arrives
