Gameloft Announces Glasses-Free 3D Games for LG Optimus 3D

Published

on

Gameloft now provides a catalog of 17 game titles for the LG Optimus 3D, which will launch in the U.S. under wireless carrier AT&T as the Thrill 4G. The glasses-free 3D smartphone, at least the international version under the Optimus 3D moniker, will come pre-loaded with 3 games and Gameloft will be providing a number more for optional purchase and download.

On the device out of the box will be Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, Let’s Go Golf! 2, and N.O.V.A.

Optional downloads include:

  • Assassin’s Creed: Altaïr’s Chronicles
  • James Cameron’s Avatar
  • Ultimate Spider Man: Total Mayhem
  • GT Racing: Motor Academy
  • Shrek Kart
  • Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus
  • Real Football 2011
  • Star Battalion
  • N.O.V.A. 2 — Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance
  • Dungeon Hunter 2
  • Fishing Kings
  • BackStab
  • Eternal Legacy
  • Shadow Guardian
The number of 3D games available both on the phone and as optional downloads bests what is available from Gameloft for the rival HTC EVO 3D, which is currently available on Sprint. On the Sprint handset, pre-loaded on the device is Spiderman 3D, and there are only a handful of optional 3D titles for purchase through Gameloft’s webstore: Asphalt 6: Adrenaline 3D, GT Racing: Motor Academy 3D, Assissins Creed — Altair’s Chronicles 3D, Let’s Golf! 2 3D, and N.O.V.A. 3D.
It’s unclear if AT&T will also pre-load the same Gameloft titles from the Optimus 3D on its branded Thrill 4G version of the smartphone. Hopefully, both the Optimus 3D and the EVO 3D will find more available 3D content in the form of games, movies, TV shows, videos, and other content.
