How to Add Multiple Instagram Accounts on iPhone

Published

on

Instagram just released an update to their app that now allows users access to multiple Instagram accounts on one device. Here’s how to set it up.

Many social media apps these days come with support for multiple accounts. It’s usually not the official apps, but most third-party social apps will come with this feature, so it’s certainly a surprise to see Instagram officially supporting multiple accounts.

In any case, it’s undoubted that many Instagram users are excited about this feature, and while most users may only have one Instagram account, there also other users who might also manage a company Instagram account or another personal account of some kind.

With that said, Instagram has made it super easy to switch between Instagram accounts if you have more than one, and the steps to set it all up is fairly easy, although the feature is sort of hidden.

Here’s how to add multiple Instagram accounts on iPhone and easily switch between them whenever you want.

Adding Another Instagram Account

The process for adding another Instagram account within the app is fairly simple, but isn’t the easiest to find. Simply follow these steps to make it happen:

Within the Instagram app on your iPhone, tap on the Profile icon tab in the lower-right corner.

From there, tap on the gear icon in the top-right corner.

Scroll all the way down and tap on Add Account.

On the next screen, simply login like you normally would if you were logged out, only this time enter in the username and password of the account that you want to add. You can also sign up for a new account on this screen.

Once you login, your new account will be added and will automatically switch to that new account so that you can begin using it right away.

Switching Between Instagram Accounts

Once you add more than one account, you can then switch between them easily.

To do this, simply go to your profile page and tap on your username at the top. A drop-down menu will appear where you can then select the Instagram account that you want to switch to.

Switching back is just a matter of going back to the Profile page, tapping on the username at the top and then selecting the other Instagram account.

You can also add another account from this drop-down menu by tapping on Add Account.

Deleting an Instagram Account

If you added another Instagram account to the app, but want to delete it, here’s how to do it.

Start off by switching to the account that you want to delete. From there, go the Profile page and then tap on the gear icon in the top-right corner.

From there, scroll all the way down to the bottom. You’ll be able to log out of that account. You can also log out of all your accounts at the same time if you want to get a fresh start.

Can you log into multiple accounts on multiple devices? I have both of my accounts on my iPad but the Add Account has not shown up on my iPhone6. Wondering if you can only do it on one device.

JUST CLOSE YOUR APP FOLKS! IT ONLY APPEARS AFTER THE UPDATE IF YOU CLOSE THE APP AND THEN REOPEN. Easy peasy.

I have the add account option, but when I get to the screen where you “simply login like you normally would if you were logged out, only this time enter in the username and password of the account that you want to add”, it tells me ‘the username you entered doesn’t appear to belong to an account’. This is when I enter a new username, and give it the same password or a different password as my original insta account. If I click on ‘sign up’, it tells me my email address is already linked to another account and so cannot do it. If I log in via Facebook it just goes to my original account. If it expects me to have a different email address for each account, then what’s the point? And who has five email addresses to add up to five accounts?!? Does anyone know what I’m missing?? Thanks in advance.

Keeping multiple Instagram accounts is good, however, you should delete Instagram account if not required. I do that. I have explained it here. https://www.mobigyaan.com/how-to-delete-instagram-account-ios-android
